Handel’s Messiah...Refreshed! - New Album (Canceled)
DCINY breathes new life into the Goossens/Beecham expanded orchestration of Handel’s Messiah with a new recorded version.
DCINY is pleased to announce the upcoming release of an all-new recording of the Eugene Goossens/Thomas Beecham re-orchestration of Handel’s Messiah.
This new album will be led by maestro Jonathan Griffith and recorded at legendary Abbey Road Studios with The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the original orchestral organization from the 1959 recording. It will feature an international roster of singers and soloists from all over the world, including the Youth Choir of Great Britain, performing live, together in the same room.
Unlike other popular recording methods of today, this new approach aims to capture the excitement, energy, and passion often conveyed to audience members in DCINY's live concert performances. While it is sure to be a fantastic end-product, we are in the midst of a major fundraising campaign and need your help!
While DCINY will be providing the majority of the financial backing behind this epic endeavor, we are relying on a Kickstarter boost to get this campaign off the ground.

First class orchestral and choral albums are incredibly expensive to make: a typical budget runs well over $200,000! Despite this, we're setting our Kickstarter goal at a modest $50,000 to help support some of these costs and give you an opportunity to take the ride with us as “investor.” If we exceed that goal, we'll announce some additional goodies as stretch goals.
DCINY will be refreshing this Kickstarter page over time and adding rewards over the course of this campaign. Please check back regularly for new rewards, continual project updates and more!
The recording will take place on Monday, July 29th through August 1st at Abbey Road Studios with rehearsals taking place from July 26th - 28th in London.
Sunday, December 1, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Carnegie Hall in New York City. Distinguished Concerts International New York celebrates the Ninth Annual presentation of Handel’s Messiah, the Beecham/Goossens 1959 re-orchestration for full symphony orchestra.
Currently, the goal for digital album release is slated for December 2019 on Spotify, iTunes, Apple Music, Amazon Music, and more with a physical mastering and manufacturing album release scheduled for Spring 2020. The final product will be available for purchase wherever music is sold.
Risks and challenges
DCINY is thrilled to embark on new musical adventures with this exciting project. As we enjoy collaborations with our live performances, we have gathered team of true professionals to assure a strong path forward of creation and production. As our good friend Composer/Conductor Christopher Tin stated in his historic kickstarter, “one way or the other, this album will be made. However, this time you get to be part of the entire journey.” We will record the album in London in 2019, and we'll send you updates and previews the whole week. And if unforeseen circumstances mean that we have to delay the release date, we promise to be forthright with the latest developments and plans for working through those circumstances.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
