I am composing my third studio album which will comprise two long instrumental tracks (approx 20 minutes each). The music draws upon my love of Mike Oldfield and contains stylistic similarities. The music is rather pastoral with melodic and peaceful musical ideas but will also feature more intense and emotional sections. The album is being made entirely on the iPad as was my last album MACO. There will be live guitar parts that will feature heavily to produce an album that inhabits the world of the 70's and progressive music of that time.
I never planned to write an album like this but it emerged of its own free will and I am now incredibly excited about how brilliant it will be.
Funding of this project acts as a pre order and there are a range of pledge incentives. My good friend Justin Towell is playing the guitar for me and this is no small job so part of the funding will go towards paying him for his time and services.
I would like to use the funding to help make the album better such as having it professionally mastered and if funding is reallly good then CDs made.
I'm not here to make lots of money but the more you pledge the more scope I have to enhance the album. It would be nice to have some other live instrumental parts but this is all cost dependent and reflects how much I can raise in funding.
Risks and challenges
I see no issues with the recording and composing of the work. The only challenge is in getting enough people to support me and my efforts. The more I raise, the more I can invest in the project.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
