I can't tell you how happy I am to be able to start work on my second CD. My first CD, "Sometimes I Wonder," was released in 2000. My fans loved the CD and have been after me ever since to record another one. But my health and the troublesome things that pop up in all our lives just threw up one roadblock after another. But now I'm feeling much better and, with a clear road ahead and a little help from my friends, I'm starting to work on material for a new CD project. I'm planning it to include primarily new original songs arising from my own experiences along with contributions from a few of my friends.
If you don't know me, check out the video here. It'll tell you a little about where I come from and where I've been. I really can't describe the amazing difference that music has made in my life. Writing songs doesn't come easy for me, but once I can get a song out of my head and on to paper -- no matter if it's a sad or happy song -- it's like a cloud has been lifted. Then, when I can sing it and share it with my friends and my fans, it's pure joy. The biggest rewards in my life have come when someone comes up to me and says that they weren't feeling too good when they arrived at the show, but afterwards they were feeling better. I couldn't ask for more. No doubt, in spite of any troubles I've faced, I'm a blessed man.
If I am fortunate enough to meet my goal through your generosity, I plan to use the funds for the basic production costs associated with the CD. If I'm able to exceed my goal, I will use the additional funds for promotion of the CD once it's completed.
Your support of this project will make a huge difference in my life and, with some hard work and a little luck, it might make a just a little difference in the lives of those who hear the music -- who knows, maybe even yours. We have some pretty cool rewards, so maybe you'll think about joining us on this project. It's going to be a fun ride!
Thank you so much for taking the time to check out my project.
Risks and challenges
Any recording project comes with the risk of assembling the song material and the team to ensure a quality product. For this project, I believe we have more than enough raw material and song ideas to complete the project. So it will come down to the team. I'm working with a number of blues professionals in the Philadelphia area that have proven experience in performance, songwriting and recording. I've also lined up a great studio to work with. Finally, this project is the focus of my life right now. So, while I can't give you any guarantees about the outcome, I can give you a guarantee that we have a great team and we're going to give it our best shot.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
