In movie-making, character arc refers to how a character changes over the course of the story. In the best stories, the core of the character changes as a result of the trials and tribulations they go through. They end up being very different from who they were when the story began.
So we’re going to dive into characters next in the social goals.
The Kickstarter is rocking and rolling. Keep sharing the love. The game is shaping up to be nice and big and it’s all thanks to you. Thanks so much!
Social Goal #2 – 20 Favorite Horror Movies - UNLOCKED
I feel like I overshot asking for 30 horror movies. So I decided to drop it to 20. We’ve hit 20, so well done! There will now be two alternate roles for you to take on after your character dies.
Social Goal #3 – 20 Favorite Horror Movie Characters - LOCKED
Tweet a pic of your favorite horror movie character with a link to the Kickstarter and #DieLaughingRPG. Tell everyone WHY you love that character so much!
If we get 20 such tweets, I’ll add eight additional characters to the game. This will bring the character count to 24!
Backer Count Goals
Backer Count Goal #1 – 30 Survivors - UNLOCKED
We’ve hit the minimum of 30 Survivor level backers. There will be a list of common horror tropes provided in the game book to use as a handy reference.

Horror Tropes List
I’ve put together a list of horror tropes to include in the game. But I want more. Go HERE and offer up your own ideas. You can fill this survey out as many times as you want.
If you offer up a trope that isn’t already on my list, I’ll add it. That said, I have limited space in the book so I’ll only add the best of the best. Shoot for tropes that are a little more obscure. Saying “running and falling down” or “no cell service” won’t earn you anything. Those are already on the list.
NerdBurger Games Social Media
You can keep in touch with NerdBurger Games via a number of methods. Pick one that suits you.
There will be several full-page illustrations in the book. Each is built like a movie-making storyboard, telling a little story. Here’s one of my favorites.
I’ll be in Dayton, Ohio for AcadeCon on Nov. 9-11. I’ll be running Die Laughing as well as other games at my demo table. I’ll also be co-hosting two panels. One is on Getting into the RPG Industry. The other is on Creating Your Own RPG. They’ll be happening back to back on Saturday, 2-4pm.
I’m also wide open to talking about my other games, running short demos, and generally just talking the geeky talk. If you’re there, swing on by and say hello.
While I’m at the convention, I’ll be difficult to get hold of and my email responses, comment responses, etc. might slow down considerably for those few days. Fear not, I’m still paying attention. If I don’t get back to you about something that weekend, I’ll be in touch shortly after getting home.
