The Inciting Incident

Greetings, victims…

In movie-making, the inciting incident is the moment when the protagonist engages the story and leaves their old world behind. It's when they start making active choices to confront the challenges they're facing.

I awoke this morning to 200% funded with 135 backers. That’s just shy of backer totals I had for CAPERS and Murders & Acquisitions on their first days combined. What a great inciting incident!

On behalf of myself and the rest of the team, thank you!

Now, how can we make the game book bigger and better?

Be Social

Social Goal #1 – 100 Retweets

This goal is still in need of help. As of this update, we are at 43 retweets. 57 more retweets by 9am Eastern on Thursday, November 1st gets more characters and monsters into the book. Take a look at the first update for instructions on retweeting.

If you don’t have a Twitter account, that’s okay. Grab a gamer friend of yours who does and ask them to retweet on your behalf. It’s all about reaching out to find other folks who will like this game and you can help. It only takes a couple minutes and it will make every backer love you.

In fact, get a bunch of your gamer friends to retweet. Twenty retweets could come from one backer’s friends. I won’t know and neither will anyone else. And if the book gets bigger because of it, no one is going to care.

Be a Survivor

Backer Count Goal #1 – Survivor Backer Levels

I’ve added three backer levels to the Kickstarter. Each is a “Survivor” level that gets you everything at the Victim backer level plus a PDF of one or both of our previous RPGs for $10 more per game (each normally a $15 download).

If we get 30 backers combined among those three Survivor backer levels, I’ll add a big list of horror movie tropes to the book. Plenty of inspiration for how to make your character do really stupid things and get themselves killed.

Game on,

Craig
