CAPERS Covert is a supplement for the BAMFsie award-winning CAPERS roleplaying game, which is set in the 1920s Prohibition Era of the United States.

You can get the core book at a lower price than anywhere else as part of this Kickstarter and play either version of the game...or combine them. Much of what's presented in CAPERS Covert is perfectly usable in CAPERS. Plus, it has a whole new 1960s setting and theme you can play in.
In CAPERS Covert, you portray a character with extraordinary abilities living in the midst of an ongoing cat and mouse game between super-villains and super-spies. You'll employ your super-powers, gadgets, and charm to aid you in achieving your goals.
CAPERS Covert offers a complete 1960s Las Vegas backdrop that carries the CAPERS timeline forward 40 years. It also includes new content that can be used in the CAPERS game with no modification required:
- Expanded character options
- Expanded rules for vehicle chases, jury-rigging, and more
- New powers
- Additional GM guidelines and tools
- Super-spy and super-villain organizations
CAPERS Covert is a game of subterfuge, chases, espionage, and style. Your character will walk the razor's edge as they seek global domination...or a world of peace.
When playing any CAPERS game, each player (and the GM) uses their own deck of standard, poker-style playing cards (52 suit cards plus 2 jokers) to determine if a character succeeds at difficult tasks.
The pip value of the card you flip (2, 3, and so on, up to ace high) determines success versus failure. The card’s suit determines the DEGREE of success or failure, starting at clubs (the worst) and going alphabetically upward to spades (the best). You’ll be able to flip multiple cards based on your character’s capability. You might flip the king of clubs, certainly a success with a king, but just barely a success. Clubs comes with a complication.
Do you settle for barely successful and a complication or flip another card, hoping for a better result? Each flip is a gamble, risking failure.

If you choose the Henchperson backer level, your likeness will be featured in the comic as a character who gets killed or subdued by the heroes of the comic story. Your character will be prominently featured in at least one panel of the comic. You will also get image files of the comic for your own personal, non-commercial use. (Alternatively, the likeness can be of another person, with their permission.)
We will contact you after you back to confer and secure reference photos for the artist. Please respond promptly.
You must respond and provide reference photos by midnight Eastern time on Thursday, October 17, 2019 (ONE WEEK after the campaign ends); earlier is better. Failure to do so will result in your likeness not being featured and no refund will be given. All specifics subject to designer’s approval.

Risks and challenges
We understand the challenges of successfully fulfilling a crowdfunding campaign. We've studied the Kickstarter process in depth. Our previous five crowdfunding efforts saw fulfillment by our projected fulfillment dates, often early and never more than seven months after the Kickstarter ended.
