I'm Craig from NerdBurger Games and I make indie tabletop RPGs (I even won an award once). In fact, I've made three of them, along with some supplements and accessories. I also make smaller games now and then and I have four I'd like to make pretty with art, graphics, and proper editing. And I'd like to share them with you.
You shout, "How can I get these games?"
Easy. Back this Kickstarter for as little as $4. When the games are ready, I'll send download links to the all of backers. It's that simple.
You respond, "But Craig, what are these games?"
Well, each is two to four pages long. Some are roleplaying games. There's a dice game. They'll be in 6x9 PDF format. They vary in what they're about and...hey...wait a minute!
Four games? Four days? I just had an idea!
I'll reveal details on one of the games each day of this campaign!
With all that said, read on...
WARNING: This Kickstarter is an experiment in short-campaign funding and is super-short. Only four days. Jump on board now!
You're trying to make a sandwich. That's all. You just want a sandwich. But so do all the other players.
As you try desperately to make your tasty sandwich, the other players will introduce complications that prevent you from finishing your multi-layer delight. A dull knife. An irritating little sister. An alien invasion. You know, regular stuff.
But it's okay, because you can introduce stuff to stop THEM from making their sandwiches, too. The winner is the one who makes their sandwich. The prize is a sandwich.
(Sandwich materials not included.)
You and your friends tell a story by portraying characters in that story. The problem is…all your characters are really bad at making the big decisions.
It’s a good thing you each have a little devil on one shoulder and a little angel on the other (each played by other players in the game). Whenever you’re faced with a big decision, the little devil and little angel give you advice. And you have to do one of the things they suggest.
Everything will turn out fine, I’m sure!
The galaxy is at war and Earth is in need of the best rogue space captains and their crews to form Space Force…an elite, off-the-books, black-ops force that will undertake the most dangerous and morally reprehensible missions war has to offer.
You and your friends are rival space captains seeking that lucrative and exciting contract by getting a ship and putting together a crew.
This is a multi-round, short play dice game where you’ll assemble your crew and complicate things for other players.
You and your friends pretend you’re on a crashing plane. As you prepare to meet your maker, you feel it is important to unburden yourself of all the embarrassing deeds you’ve done and secrets you’ve kept.
You’ll use prompts provided in the game to craft short, fictional stories of embarrassment and poor judgement. Totally…fictional…stories. Fictional. Right?
(Plane not included.)
HOW TO GET THE GAME
I'll send your one random game PDF to you when everything is ready. Then you'll go make some friends in the NerdBurger Games Discord and trade for the other games.
If you back at the $6 or $16 level, I'll send you all four games in PDF when the games are ready.
If I decide to make a softcover book available later on, you'll receive a discount link to purchase this book at cost from DriveThruRPG.com. Just what it costs for paper, ink, and binding.
A 6x9, 20-page, color, softcover book costs about $2.18 USD to print. Shipping runs $4 USD and up, based on your location.
If you back at the $14 level or higher, you get an additional game, a full RPG. For every additional $10 added to your pledge, you can get another RPG PDF.
You'll choose which one(s) you want in the backer survey after the campaign ends.
Here are the RPGs:
- CAPERS: A super-powered game of gangsters in the Roaring Twenties. You play gangsters or cops during the Prohibition era...and you have super-powers. CAPERS won a 2018 BAMFsie Award for supers games. It's also nominated for two Indie Groundbreaker Awards - Best Rules and Best Art.
- CAPERS Noir: Criminals, cops, mystery, and monsters...with super-powers. You play criminals or cops in a 1940s crime noir landscape. (Note: this is a supplement for CAPERS. You need the core game to play it.)
- Die Laughing: The game that puts the laughter in slaughter. In this zero-prep, short-play, GM-less game, you portray a character in a horror-comedy movie. You're gonna die, so make it funny. When your character is gone, you become a producer on the movie and continue to influence the story and remaining characters. The free version of the game is nominated for a Best Free Game/Product ENnie. This full version has even more laughing and dying.
- Murders & Acquisitions: Subterfuge, espionage, intrigue, theft, and murder in an absurd corporate world. Rise up the company ladder by whatever means necessary in this tongue-in-cheek take on corporate culture.

Risks and challenges
We understand the challenges of successfully fulfilling a crowdfunding campaign. We've done this four times before, each time fulfilling on time or early. And for much larger projects. The artist, layout guy, and editor are pros and are confident they can hit the quick turnaround.
Barring illness or the apocalypse, we are confident we will get the game to you by October of 2019. If delays arise, we'll let you know. NerdBurger Games is committed to being a game company that turns around Kickstarter rewards efficiently and in a timely manner.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
