About
NOTEBLOX in the news...
Communications Arts - "So... note-taking? Digital? Or analog? You may no longer have to make a choice."
The Gadgeteer - "NOTEBLOX look like typical bound notebooks, but they have a difference..."
Gear Diary - "...maybe these folks at Noteblox have the right idea"
Trendy Gadget - "NOTEBLOX, the answer for sketchers who can’t give up their iPad, or iPad users who can’t give up their pencils"
PAPER & MAGNETS...
NOTEBLOX are simple blank paper journals, with 12 neodymium magnets built into the back and front cover. The magnets hold the iPad in the back cover, and pens, pencils, styluses and other NOTEBLOX on the front. The magnetic binding system creates a simple and convenient package for carrying your notebook, stylus, pen and iPad together. When you've filled the pages, the NOTEBLOX remains a clever object and is designed to be archived rather than discarded.

Magnets in the binding are super strong and capable on their own of holding the iPad, but we've also included elastic straps that assist in keeping things secure, or hold you place in the NOTEBLOX. The back cover open 360 degrees and allows the iPad to sit flat on top of the stack.
Even without the "internet connected" benefit of the iPad, NOTEBLOX continue to be fully functional and quite useful all by themselves (albiet lonely). Sets of NOTEBLOX on a book shelf will find themselves standing upright without bookends, refrigerators enjoy their company as do most metallic surfaces. Additionally many styluses, pens, and mechanical pencils find themselves attracted to the magnetic binding. Best of all? no batteries... no drivers...
Ive already had great response from people without iPads who just want a multi-functional notebook. I had a first time backer write to me and say "I don't and won't own an iPad, but funded you because I like your idea a lot and think it is an excellent accessory."

NOTEBLOX DESIGN...
NOTEBLOX are designed to as simple as possible, inexpensive but hardly disposable. We chose to use a collection of renewable and readily available materials to produce this first version of NOTEBLOX to keep costs low and evaluate the consumer response to our product.
- COVER - recycled natural kraft card stock
- PAPER - 100% acid free recycled paper, 100 sheets (200 pages)
- BINDING - simple binding reminiscent of old text books.
- MAGNETS - 12 super strong magnets integrated into the binding attach to the Apple iPad as well as to other NOTEBLOX, refrigerators, cars, etc.
- CLOSURE - twin elastic straps hold the pages of the journal secure and has enough elasticity to grab onto your iPad as well.
- GRAPHICS - a simple, single color logo on the front and inside cover
FUNCTIONALITY...
PROTECTION - An iPad cover and notebook all in 1! Magnets integrated into the back cover attach to the magnets in the iPad so that the NOTEBLOX itself can offer some marginal protection (its still paper after all). Utilize the twin elastic straps to further secure the ipad within the binding. The magnets in the NOTEBLOX work with the Apple SmartCover attached, though not as securely. We've also tested the attachment with several third party snap on back cases as well, and have equally successful results.
CONVENIENCE - If you find yourself traveling with both an iPad and a paper journal you'll appreciate the simple convenience of having both in one simple package.
ORGANIZATION - Multiple journals can be joined together for storage or for taking to class. Get separate NOTEBLOX for each class, they all travel together simply and efficiently. The magnets are strong enough to hold the journal on a refrigerator. 3 or more NOTEBLOX together will stand vertically on a shelf or desk and not require book ends. Metallic pens, pencils and styluses are magnetically secure on the binding.

FUNDING...
Our funding goal covers all the startup costs including production prototypes, overseas shipping, first run minimum order, tariff + duty costs, packaging and home delivery to the first round of kickstarter patrons.
It will also provide enough start-up capital to get a working internet store front up and operating. The final product will be available at our website www.noteblox.com. Our first marketing goal is to get displays in major universities and college campuses nation wide.
PRODUCTION...
The first priority of this Kickstarter campaign is to evaluate interest in this product. We think it's amazing and ingenius etc... but we've all done "that" to ourselves before. The truth is in the numbers. If we can reach our funding goal we'll have reached the threshold of minimum order quantities and proven the effectiveness of not only KICKSTARTER, but our idea as well.
A factory has already been selected for production and has been responsible for the working prototypes in the images above. They are simply waiting on our "OK" to get the manufacturing underway. (Of course by "OK" they mean $$) Once we've established our funding goal the lead time for manufacturing and delivery to our warehouse is 40 days. We'll ship them to our backers as soon as we have them in our hands. If our campaign is moderately successful It is our goal to have the journals in your hands by October 5th. If we are extra successful it will take a week or so longer.
DESIGN DEVELOPMENT...
Below are some techincal drawings produced for the manufacturer.

KICKING IT FORWARD! I just caught wind of this site recently, and couldn't agree more. If NOTEBLOX are sucessfully funded, I will pledge 5% of any profits received back to the creative community at kickstarter. http://kickingitforward.org
