We here at Kirby's Dream Band have a passion for video game music. From the original NES to the games of today, there are THOUSANDS of fantastic video game soundtracks out there; all written and composed by amazing musical minds! However, these outstanding composers were so often limited to the 8 and 16-bit soundchips used by early video games. Jun Ishikawa, composer of much of the music for the Kirby franchise, is just one of these under-celebrated musical geniuses. Our goal is to bring compositions like his to life in rock form!
We are producing THE PINK ALBUM completely independently. 16 tracks—each with two keyboards, two guitars, bass, and a full set of drums—need to be recorded, mixed, and mastered, and the CDs themselves need to be printed and packaged. The expenses add up fast, and while the six of us are contributing as much of our own money as we can, it unfortunately isn't enough. We appreciate any little bit that you can donate; we consider $1 generous, and we will be grateful for it! If for any reason we don’t reach our goal by the deadline, the money you donate never leaves your pocket, so there’s no unnecessary risk.
In celebration of Kirby's 20th Anniversary this year, we'll be releasing the album online through our Bandcamp FREE for download! That is...IF we reach our funding goal!
☆ P.S. If we meet or exceed $5000 in total donations, all backers who contribute $100 or more will receive a LIMITED-EDITION VINYL copy of The Pink Album!

Risks and challenges
All of us here at KDB have played music for a long time, and this project undoubtedly involves some of the most challenging and complex material we've ever played. We REALLY want the final product to sound as good as possible; so we refuse to cut any corners in the recording process. We will need to book time with the best engineers at the best recording studios (that we can afford) for each of our six instruments.
Each of us have been through the recording process before, but no two creative endeavors are ever quite the same and there are always unforeseen challenges, hiccups, and expenses that seem to pop up. Due to the complexity of the material, sometimes things can take longer than expected to record, which in turn costs more money than expected.
That is why this Kickstarter campaign is so vital to this project. Financially, we just don't have the resources to overcome all the potential challenges of the recording process. With your help though, we CAN make this album as great as we know it can be!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
