For years, I wanted to make a game which my wife, who hates table top games, could also enjoy when I had friends over for game nights. I set out to make something that was easy to pick up and great for social get-togethers. The social element is integral to the game, because you are rewarded for tricking your opponents into doing or saying certain things.
The game's theme is my personal reaction to what appears to be a growing trend in fascism. Because I want this game to be the ultimate catharsis against that, I made the end goal to take out the most despicable fascist in history.
The title "Kill Baby Hitler" is a poke at the classic ethical conundrum of whether or not you should kill Hitler as a baby. In this game, it's not a question, it's a forgone conclusion.
As juxtaposition on the darkness of the game's title, the overall tone and design is light. Attack cards (nazi cards) are always gross, cartoony, depictions of Nazis and the weapons used to fight them off are equally as cartoon-like.
HOW TO PLAY
The goal is to be the first player to collect 5 time crystals (you can change this if you want a shorter game or a longer game). Collecting these crystals allows your to power up a time machine to do the dirty deed.
Player obtain crystals through earning them through various tasks the cards require or stealing them from other players.
Players take turns and may play one opening card. This card can either be a wild card or a Nazi card.
Wild cards are independently unique so play them as they are described to.
Nazi cards are treated like attack cards so play them against any opponent, ideally someone that's hoarding crystals.
The opponent that is being attacked has an opportunity to defend them self with a weapon card. Weapon and Nazi cards have associated hit points and damage points, more than one weapon card can be used in defense, you just need the damage points to be greater or equal to the hit points of the Nazi card to successfully fend off the attack. If the player cannot defend the attack then they would lose a time crystal to the attacking player.
Trick cards are special as they can be played out of turn. Think of it as the "drinking game" aspect of the whole game. For example, there's a card called Swear Jar in the deck. If you have that card in possession and someone curses you can play that card immediately and steal that person's time crystal. Manipulating your opponent to do these things is highly encouraged.
Trap cards are mainly used as defense purposes and can even turn the tables on an opponent that is attacking you. They can help you flee an incoming attack or even reverse the outcome of events.
Our Kickstarter Goal:
We want to raise funds to cover the costs of printing, packaging, and distributing the game.
The cost of the cards and packaging varies by quantity, so if we hit our goal, it will put us at an optimal target for the vendors we're dealing with.
We're also in the works of developing some expansion packs so we'll need fuel there, and don't worry - Kill Baby Hitler will be made here in the good ol' USA

Risks and challenges
The card game as in its existence is complete. Not all of the cards have been designed in vector yet. They're just scribbles in a notepad. We have one designer on our team (my sister) so part of the funding is to hire a couple freelancers to speed up the project. We have them on standby.
A vendor for printing the cards has also been found. Again, this is an issue of how many units you guys help us out with pledging. We want the cards to be of highest quality.
