About this project
Funding will go to producing the short comedy film TWO OLD JOHNS!
John and Jon are two friends who live in a beach retirement community who just came to an unfortunate realization. They are still interested in being sexually active, but all of the women that they are surrounded by are post-menopausal and not interested in sex. They claim that there is no spark in their love lives at this point of time. On top of that they do not have enough status for the younger, more sexually active women to be interested in them.
In order to get the women’s attention they attempt different schemes- John runs for and subsequently wins the position of Community Board Chairman, while Jon resorts to teenage-esque pickup lines. After being unsuccessful in both of these attempts, Jon brings up the idea that they could just have sex with prostitutes.
At first John shuts down the idea, but after seeing a young and attractive couple on the boardwalk, he realizes that paying for sex may be the only way. They venture to the red light district, pick up two prostitutes off the street, take them to a shady motel, but are arrested when the hookers reveal themselves to be cops.
They are released from jail the next morning, and they have an argument outside. John is worried that his reputation will be tarnished, and he blames Jon for that considering the prostitutes were his idea initially. Jon then reminds John that the final call was not his, but Johns. John then takes responsibility for his decision and the consequences, and they head back home together.
They get back to town and John is informed that he has been stripped of his new title due to his run in with the law. He and Jon then walk past a group of old women who are now acting flirtatious with the men- it seems that the women view them as badasses now that they have been in jail. In fact they are so flirtatious that they two old John’s are able to grab one each, and walk off into the sunset.
A Little About The Writer/Director
Cooper is currently attending Syracuse University in pursuit of his Film Production degree. While at school he has written, directed, and starred in a variety of short films. On a professional level Cooper was a casting assistant for the film THE PLACE BEYOND THE PINES starring Ryan Gosling and Bradley Cooper. He has also spent time working in Los Angeles at a production company as the assistant to the Head of Film Development. There he was able to fine tune his development skills, and gain many contacts in the entertainment industry. Cooper spends time doing stand up comedy, and is very excited to create this film!

Risks and challenges
One of the risks that we plan to face stems from the fact that we are shooting the film in New Jersey, yet doing most of the pre-production in Syracuse, NY. With this being the case, it will cost a little bit more for hiring crew, location scouting, transportation, and casting. In order to make this less of an issue, I wrote the film with all of the locations already in mind which should make everything run more smooth.
Thanks so much for taking a look at this project, and please consider helping us make this project come alive!

Seaside was recently devastated when it was hit by Hurricane Sandy in October, but thankfully it's on the path to recovery. They have been working very hard to have the boardwalk open for the summer, and are planning on having it open by this upcoming Memorial Day. We are shooting the film in June, so Seaside should be back to its beautiful self by then!
