100 years ago a very clever person planted Olive Trees on Shadoshima Island in Japan. Pioneering farmer Mr Ishi decided one day to try and feed the Olive Waste to his cows after it had been pressed for Olive Oil. The waste is the pulp, crushed stone and crushed seed. After some different cooking experiments he figured out a way to make it aromatic, and the cows loved it. And so was born Sanuki Olive Fed Wagyu Beef, currently the highest priced beef in the world, double the price of Kobe Beef.
The thing is, with such a tiny amount of Olives in Japan, it is a very small and niche product. In Europe there are millions of tonnes of Olive Waste produced per year. This is where the real problem is, and also the real opportunity for a sustainable business.
Right now, Olive Waste is often dumped roadside, or it is processed into a fuel that is burned further polluting the environment. Some use it as a compost but Olive Mills have to pay lots of money to have it taken away. Its a serious burden especially for small Olive Oil producers because its expensive and time consuming to deal with. Its bad for the environment as waste water leaks into the ground, and it also has a strong smell which pollutes the air.
We have figured out a way of cooking Olive Waste to make it into an incredible nutritious and safe animal feed, through a special process of Caramelization. The feed is not only good for the final meat product making it more nutritious and healthy and giving it an incredible taste, but its better for the animals too. We have run various tests showing not only is this possible as an animal feed, but it can be the best and most nutritious animal feed on the market! Our tests show increased Monounsaturated Fats, Oleic Acid, Glutamic Acid and Carnosine. All of these things have a long list of health benefits from Anti Cancer and fighting Heart Disease to improved eyesight, skin and hair. Olive Oil has decades of scientific research behind it to show its long list of benefits.
Our goal is at one point in the future take all of that polluting Olive Waste produced worldwide and turn it into feed. Of course after its a feed and passes through the animals it becomes a natural compost to the land creating a completely cyclical system that removes this troublesome environmental pollutant forever.
We need your kickstarter funds to help us continue our testing and fund our research. Our existing funds we have to spend on operations. We want to give this feed to other animal groups. We want to test for Methane reduction across all of these groups. We need to test the nutrition information on a large scale so the biggest farmers in the world will start adopting this feed based on a long list of studies and testing data. Each one of these studies costs money, and the more we raise here the faster we can get them done, and the faster we can help clean up the environment.
Right now we are going through Certification Processes with the Department of Agriculture in Ireland. We have already got testing reports on our feed product to make sure it is perfectly safe by SGS Laboratories in Paris. By April we will be fully approved with a completed factory to export all over the world.
We are working with the Local Enterprise Offices in County Offaly in Ireland who are helping us fund our factory, our machines and our setup. We are also doing research and testing with Universities like D.I.T, The Wagyu Association of Australia, Wagyu Farmers and Public Research Bodies like Teagasc. So as you can imagine it takes a lot of money, and thats why we are on Kickstarter to get as much funding as possible in order to keep pushing forward with as many tests as we can.
Any money we raise here is going into research and development. The more research we can produce, the better our product will perform and in this way customers will buy our Olive Feed therefore reducing the Olive Waste in Europe. People in southern Europe will be used to seeing huge piles of Olive Waste dotted around the countryside. Its not healthy for the land as the water runs off into the ground and is a contaminant. Not everyone meets the required regulations of disposing of it properly. But if we can hoover up all this waste and make it into an organic product that leads to cyclical farming, this is truly sustainable business at its very best!
This will be our first kickstarter campaign, we plan to do lots more as we have more research to fund. We also plan to make it worth your while as a contributor by giving you Olive Fed Wagyu Beef that is currently the most expensive meat product in the world, and almost unavailable outside of Japan. When you taste this beef you will be really amazed! Its light and buttery and tender, with incredible flavor and nothing like you have ever tasted before.

Risks and challenges
Our Risks and Challenges are very low because we have done so much testing already.
We have proven in the worlds best testing laboratory SGS, that our feed is safe for consumption.
We have replicated Japanese tests by doing our own tests in Ireland on the final meat product after Olive Feed Consumption. We have proven the increased nutrition in Oleic Acid, Monounsaturated Fats, Glutamic Acid and Carnosine.

We know farmers want this product, we have signed purchase orders from Major producers of Wagyu in Australia and in Ireland
We know there is no shortage of supply of raw materials out there all over the Olive Oil producing countries.
We have filed our patent on our processing methods to protect us.
Getting final approval to export our product by the Department of Agriculture is an administration formality. We just need to build a clean factory and have the correct hazard control preventions in place. We are working with them closely to do this.
Our only risk as we see it is time because the longer it takes to do all the studies we want the longer it takes to produce the data for the major farmers in the world to start using our product. We want to build this fast, and clean up this waste problem as fast as we can. We believe we can reduce Methane production with our feed. But we need to do large studies to prove this. Every day week and month we are delayed doing this more Methane goes into the atmosphere.
So we have come a long way. But despite that we still have a lot of work to do in order to build this properly. If Kickstarter can give us the boost we need to expedite everything this would be really amazing for us.
