Have a question?
For those of you checking in to see if the Steam version is live yet, we ran into a last-minute glitch tonight and decided to hold the launch until we figure it out. We'll take a fresh look at it tomorrow.
I'm so happy that people are enjoying the game! When you work on something for this long, you really hope that people will have fun. So it's great to hear that this is coming to pass. --Bob
Just finished the Game! Thank you Bob. It was a pleasure. If you planing a new Kickstarter (or what so ever) COUNT ME IN!
I would really like to print the Cyberfeelies. Can you change the security in die PDF, so we can print it?
Ok, logging out and redownloading did work better.
Anybody having problems with the Windows installer?
I am getting messages on install that some dlls are broken.
I tried redownloading the file, but this did not seem to help.
I'm still playing (maybe 50% though based on the score), but I wanted to comment early to let you know that this game has exceeded my expectations. It captures everything I love about text adventures, and you can really see the effort that went into the game. So much detail available, such interesting characters, and puzzles that make sense. Thank you!!
Just finished the game, and all I can say is this: more, please?
Yay! Hey, it would be nice if the Mac app supported native fullscreen. Thanks!
NOW! (Posting update)
@Jeff and Pascale -- very soon! :-)
Soon ! :-D
I hope to make a formal Update this weekend to announce the release date. It won't be long now!
Must... not... reveal... major (good)... update/announcement... coming... within... two... weeks...
Must.... not.... ask.... for.... update...................too late.
ouch- so sorry to hear this (as i am sure you are to report it)
maybe look at it as an opportunity to think through anything needing it. although, after working on the game for as long as you have been working on it, thinking about it is probably about the same as thinking about all the troubles associated with your newly broken hand ...
maybe just drink your way through it?
Sorry to hear that Bob, all the best for a speedy recovery!
Hi Nick. You're right -- it's time for some news, but unfortunately the update is that I've broken my right hand and I'm going to have to delay the game because I can't type (at least, not quickly). Please see the latest update for a more complete account. --Bob
Nearly July - time for a new update?
For those of you who are curious, I usually check and respond privately to these comments once a day. For faster results, send me a message directly through the Kickstarter system by clicking on my name. --Bob
Hello! I, too, seem to have missed the email with the login credentials to thaumistry.com. Cheers!
@Meg & Rick, Emails to you just went out through the KS system. Cheers, --Bob
@All. Hello, backers. It took a while, but https:// is finally in place for the Thaumistry website. Thanks for your patience. Cheers, Michael
Oops, I mean I didn't get the email.
Hey Bob, I did that get the email with my login credentials. I was trying to find where to email you, but couldn't find it through the app.
Hey Bob, I can't find the email with my login details.
Izzy & Nathan, you should now have received your login details. Please confirm that they have come through. Thanks, --Bob
I still don't seem to have had the email with my login details yet.
Still haven't gotten an email for the login details.
You are right. As I can see, you backed 20 USD, there is actually no questionnaire for you. Sorry for the inconvenience.
However, keep the login details, because we will use that site to get the game to you as soon as it becomes available.
Hi. Got the email to the backer page, but cannot find the earlier mentioned questioner. Is that to come or am I missing something?
Hi all. Yesterday Kickstarter finished their back-end processing and sent me the final list of backers. Within the next few days I will be writing an Update that describes what happens next. In the meantime, I have returned from a week at the annual Game Developers Conference, where I was happy to get an enormous amount of positive feedback about the project.
The last time I played a text adventure was around 1990 (?) - Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy if I remember. This project inspired me to download TADS and play Return to Ditch Day. I recommend it if Thaumistry has wet your appetite - now I am looking forward to the release even more!
Congratulations! Glad we reached the feelies stretch goal.
@ MichaelB: Yup, I understand there's a converter program for FW3 files now, but I haven't tried it.
@ Connie: Your faith in me is gratifying. Your *daughter's* faith in me is a miracle! :-)
@Fien: I'm looking into options to allow people to contribute via PayPal (which Kickstarter doesn't permit). I'll let everyone know when I've got something in place.
Very happy Thaumistry got funded. :) And more! Maybe pledges via PayPal are an option to get the $4762 needed for the next stretch goal?
Congrats, Bob!! Looking forward to playing! Here's to a resurgence in IF and text (and text and graphics) games!!
(Meretzky, you listenin'???)
congatulations, Bob, I knew this project would be successful. I am so proud of you! Much love.
Connie,AKA the mother-in-law
You're right, Bob. I'm awesome, and those other people probably are too.
Congratulations, Bob!!! Best of luck with the game!
P.S. You used Framework? That certainly brings up some memories :)
Campaign finished. 1053 backers. You guys are awesome. Formal update is on its way! --Bob
@James Cooper: Funny, I was thinking the same thing!
Ok, now, somebody throw $5000 at the project in the next 2h for my Samsung. ;)
And just over $35K with a little over 2 hours to go. Outstanding!
We're gonna get some feelies, guys :)
@Chris: Actually you can do that :-). You can pick any background and text color you like. Inverting is not a problem. Cheers, Michael
OK, I've been lurking since the beginning but couldn't pass up being backer #1000 (although my official backer # is 1024 according to the email, I guess?).
So hi. Infocom was my childhood.
Looking forward to this. I have a soft spot for text adventures. One request, can you have an option to invert colors? Nothing worse than staring at a bright white screen for hours. My poor old eyes!
