About this project
A Book About (and Filled With) Hope:
We are living in an age of outrage: politics, international dangers, climate change--reported breathlessly by all manner of media. One casualty of these times is hope: we are on the verge of despair.
I'm writing this book because I believe Hope is the antidote for our times. I want to create a lasting work of inspiration and beauty, something that will speak to your heart -- and most important -- to empower you to share hope with others you know and love.
Let's not add to the outrage or stoke the flames of fear. We need the embers of hope. I'm asking for your help on this project, I promise your investment will change lives--perhaps even yours! Thanks in advance for helping this project become a reality.
Risks and challenges
I've written seven other books: two in-depth treatments plus five smaller volumes of an inspirational nature. I have been researching the background for this book for a couple of years, but the writing remains to be done (but I *do* know how to complete a project on a deadline!). The only significant risk backers might face is whether the project comes in on time--and I'm determined to bring it home!
Reviews of my book, DEEPER GRACE:
"Just getting into Deeper Grace - wow, what a treasure. Ray Hollenbach has a true gift for taking fuzzy and abstract ideas that we have become numb to and making them come alive, relevant and practice. Going back for another ladle of grace on the plane." ~ Rex Miller
"It takes a gifted writer to share extremely profound ideas in simple and humorous ways, but Ray Hollenbach excels at this. Deeper Grace has presented a grace that is not merely defined by forgiveness and eternal destination but by a divine empowerment that sustains each follower of Christ, not only daily, but with each breath. Each short chapter is a refreshing breath designed to help the reader experience and appreciate the grace that easily goes unnoticed and what's worse, is often taken for granted." ~ C.A. Curry
"We all need to understand and walk in grace, and this is a book to help you go deeper. If I were a person of means, I would buy it for my entire church. Churches spend money on sound systems and coffee bars, and I like sound systems and coffee bars. But what I long for, and what the world is desperately seeking, are a people full of grace. A church that gets ahold of this message will change the lives of the community they are planted in, and that is what will change the world. Don't miss this book." ~ Steve Peifer
Reviews of my book, A MONTH OF THANKSGIVING:
"Ray's writing style mirrors his personal interaction. Caring, thoughtful, simple and impactful. Not only do I recommend his writing to you, but Ray as a person. It would be well worth your time to seek him out!" ~ Sean Hamon
"In A Month of Thanksgiving, Ray Hollenbach says, 'If we could see the map of our heart and mind, I suspect we would discover the well-worn pathways of our thinking and feeling. We train ourselves to think and feel in certain predictable ways. I believe the reason we find repeated exhortations in the scripture to think and feel specific ways is because God has given us the capacity to rule our thoughts and emotions.' This is exactly the premise of this 30 day guide that teaches the practice of gratitude for daily-living. I have no doubt that anyone who read it, and made a sustained effort to turn their thoughts toward thankfulness, would find more contentment over their month of reading." ~ Sarah Raymond Cunningham
Reviews of my book, THE IMPOSSIBLE MENTOR:
"I really loved this book and the message it contained. This is written with a fresh, approachable outlook on navigating your way, with the hope of following our our mentor. Clearly this book was written by a real man, with a real life who is making the effort to walk the walk in spite of the fact the path we walk is challenging. Well written, easy to understand, I liked it." ~ Maria Thompson McFee
"Courage can be found in so many practical ways, and Ray brings them to life. An easy read and delivered beautifully." ~ Kjel KiilsgaardLearn about accountability on Kickstarter
