A prototype is a preliminary model of something. Projects that offer physical products need to show backers documentation of a working prototype. This gallery features photos, videos, and other visual documentation that will give backers a sense of what’s been accomplished so far and what’s left to do. Though the development process can vary for each project, these are the stages we typically see:
Proof of Concept
Explorations that test ideas and functionality.
Demonstrates the functionality of the final product, but looks different.
Looks like the final product, but is not functional.
Appearance and function match the final product, but is made with different manufacturing methods.
Appearance, function, and manufacturing methods match the final product.
Welcome to our iGoSense crowdfunding page. We have developed iGoSense over the past 24 months and, with your help, are now ready to launch.
iGoSense is a WiFi connected tactical PIR motion sensor. Built from a rugged aluminium body with one click operation iGoSense can be deployed almost anywhere. iGoSense incorporates a sensitive embedded motion sensor designed to operate over a narrow beam width and also a magnetic sensor for direct contact monitoring.
iGoSense connects directly to your smart phone or tablet and alerts you immediately of any detection.
Furthermore the bespoke iGoSense App gives you the ability to create fully customised alert screens to suit your deployment.
Use iGoSense as a home security system, upload a layout of your home to the app and position alert icons in every place you have deployed iGoSense, this could include living spaces, bedrooms, garages and even the garden. If motion is detected you can see the exact position of the alert with just a quick glance.
Create a permanent 'alarm panel' style screen by hanging your tablet on the wall or standing on a side table - the options are endless. You could even build it in as part of your existing security suite.
Take camping to monitor your surf board while you are asleep.
Monitor a farm building for cattle which may have escaped.
Detect visitors before they arrive at your front door.
Use while wild camping to monitor for large animals such as bears.
Monitor fire doors and no go areas.
Setup a perimeter security system.
Take fishing and get an early warning of incoming pedestrians.
Monitor contraband for persons approaching
Use on your boat to detect people moving on deck.
Monitor your shed and outbuildings.
Detect sleep walking.
Use to detect people entering your shop.
Deploy at party's to ensure nobody passes the "no entry" sign.
Add a new dynamic to paintball/airsoft.
Make up your own uses, with fully customised alert screens.

How does it Work...
Deployment Step 1 - Customise
Simply load a background image of your choice, you can use anything you like from online images, custom maps, hand drawn images or even take a snap there and then and use that. Now simply select an alert icon and assign it to your iGoSense. You can connect as many sensors are you wish.
Deployment Step 2 - Turn On
Mount iGoSense using the included mounting kit or deploy covertly using the attached clip. Simply click the button on the back to turn the unit on, iGoSense will now establish a connection to your smart phone or tablet device and automatically arm after 60 seconds.
Deployment Step 3 - Receive Alerts
Make sure your connected devices are close at hand to be immediately alerted of any movement in the protected zone.
iGoSense supports both standalone operation and gateway mode.
What is passive infrared (PIR) technology?
iGoSense contains an ultra-small and inconspicuous PIR sensor which includes a number of analogue and digital circuits built right into the head and processed by embedded microcomputers.
The sensor detects changes in infrared radiation which occur when there is movement by a person which is different in temperature from the surroundings.
iGoSense also contains a magnetic trip sensor. A magnet is positioned a short distance from the body of iGoSense which when moved away triggers an alert. Typically this can be used to monitor doors, windows, doors and anything else which you can attach the small self-enclosed magnet to.
Every iGoSense ships with a universal mounting kit - fixings included.

Gift your Pledge
With Christmas coming up we decided that adding a gift wrapping extra would be a good idea. Simply add the gift wrapping extra to your pledge and we will send your reward to your recipient, on your behalf, fully gift wrapped. In addition let us know (we will contact you) and we will send a personalised pre-delivery letter to your recipient with details of the project and delivery timescales.

We have a working design and have spent a significant investment getting iGoSense ready for production. We now need your help to roll the product out. With your pledge we can buy components in large enough quantities to make the cost low enough to produce. It also means we can give you a Kickstarter price which is much less than the RRP will be. We also need to make some final tweeks to the App and cover the cost of releasing the App on Android and iPhone. Finally an amount of the money raised will go towards having the product tested and certified for product safety - CE approval.
All of the rewards available include a significant discount over the after campaign RRP.
Shipping and applicable TAX/VAT will be calculated per individual backer and is not included in the pledge amount. We have already established shipping partners and will provide you with the best price available.

Risks and challenges
We have a small, dedicated team, based in the south west of England. Operating from a 5000 sqft R&D and production facility we are fully geared up to delivering your rewards. Delays are always possible however and are usually down to a procurement issue where a suppliers lead time changes unexpectedly.
We have designed iGoSense to be fully compliant with CE/FCC requirements and therefore have assigned some time to having the products fully tested and evaluated for product safety and compliance. We have worked with TÜV Rheinland in the past and know the process well. If after testing an issue arises we will resolve and re-test which could potentially add a delay, I am however confident that in this eventuality we could minimise delays by resolve the issues quickly.
We will keep all backers informed with regular and up-front updates.
