About this project
Egg Collective is a Brooklyn-based design company comprised of Stephanie Beamer, Crystal Ellis, and Hillary Petrie.
Our company is less than a year old. After debuting our first collection of furniture in May of 2012, we were honored, and surprised, when we received a call from the New York City Ballet. For the first year in the Ballet's history, it has decided to collaborate with New York City based designers in order to showcase local talent. Along with two other Brooklyn-based companies, we were chosen to design and fabricate a seating area for the promenade of the David H. Koch Theater. Our design will be installed on September 25th, and will grace the floors of the Theater's promenade for the entire 2012-2013 season.
We are not getting paid for this project - materials or labor. We decided to do it because we love design, we love New York City, and we think Lincoln Center is an amazing and inspiring place.
We've invested a lot in this project already - designing and prototyping a site specific series of bronze tables and velvet seats. The money you donate will help cover the cost of material, and will go towards paying the very talented metal workers and upholsterers we are working with on this project.
We really appreciate your support. THANKS in Advance!!!!
