Welcome to the one and only, Ladies of Manure!

This 2015 calendar features sexy, smart and Eco-loving women showcasing manure, in all it’s glorious forms! Don’t be fooled by the glitz and glam, we are very serious about this thing others call Waste. Yes, you heard right, Waste! Funny thing is, in nature there is no such thing as Waste.Waste is something we humans have created. I’m sure you’ve heard the saying, “one man’s trash is another man’s treasure."

Well we found 12 creative, Eco-conscious and gorgeous women who see treasure in everything – even your daily #1’s & #2’s. When you see waste as a resource for building rich, healthy soil, in which delicious, healthy food then grows in, you wanna tell the world! Starting with you!!! But I’ve kept you in suspense long enough… here’s a sneak peak of our 2015 calendar:

So who are we you may be asking? We are Fertile Earth Foundation – an environmental non-profit organization committed to educating and implementing creative solutions to waste and reminding others that everything has the potential to be a resource. We do this mostly via composting education. For those of you might be new to this, composting is simply nature’s method of turning stuff like food scraps, paper and other organic material back into soil. And not just any soil, but rich, nutrient dense soil needed for strong and healthy plants.

Back in 2013, we launched the first Ladies of Manure calendar. We were so grateful at how well our calendar was received by fellow compost lovers and newbies alike.

After 1.4 million media impressions, we kept getting emails asking about the next one. So after several meetings, lots of planning and enjoyable hard work, we are finally ready to bring you the 2015 edition – this time early enough that you’ll receive it in time for the holidays as the perfect stocking stuffer for that quirky family member/ friend/ co-worker you have that you KNOW will Love this as much as we do.

For a new twist, we teamed up with pin-up specialists Terribly Girly, and commissioned them for their fabulous work! And boy did we choose the right team! We had an amazing time working with them and all the volunteers and models.

Risks and challenges

The main risk we are taking on with this project is the time and effort we spent into bringing everything all together and for the project not to be completed. Another risk we are taking on is for the audience not to understand the main idea and oversee the reason for each photo. We want to bring awareness on how we can reduce waste with simple steps and getting use to the fact that we are connected with our waste. We can re-use and reduce the majority of waste on a daily basis. This project may be a turn off for some due to the emphasis on 'poop'. That is why we have taken on the challenge by trying to make it look appealing with beautiful women than look at our waste as gift as oppose to something that is taken away and dumped on vacant land or contaminate our water ways.
