About this project
I am publishing my second novel, Me and Mrs. Jones. This is a novel that I have been working on for the better part of five years. When I began writing the novel I envisioned a story focusing on three friends, meeting up after many years revisiting their pasts. This novel didn't happen. I struggled to make it happen for some time. But as is the case, once I didn't force the writing, the novel that wanted to emerge, did, and Me and Mrs. Jones was born.
It's in the process of being revised by the team at WriteByNight and the cover design was created by the folks at Lighthouse 24 and now I want to bring it you. Furthermore, it will be because of you that all of my labor will finally come to fruition.
About Me and Mrs. Jones
Novelist Jack Amsertdam rockets down an East River highway, drunk, away from an incomplete novel and failing marriage thinking only of escape. Under the control of her ruthless mother, in a dead marriage and caring for her drug addicted brother, Cassidy Lowell's life has ended at 32. At least that's what it feels like until she discovers that her husband is cheating on her. Packing her children up, she heads for California and a long lost love. Responding to little more than the instinct to survival, Jack and Cassidy take flight until in the early morning on an abandoned highway, the struggling writer and fiery mother crash into one another altering their lives and haunting them forever.
About the author and the project
I was born in Minneapolis and educated at Hamline University where I received a degree in English and later an MFA in Writing where I was distinguished by the Quay W. Grigg Award for Excellence in Literary Study.
My first novel Overdrive was published by Beaver's Pond Press in 2006 and is largely a character study and a rumination on the gulf between art and life.
Praise for Overdrive: "In David Haight's first novel, Overdrive, characters spend their precious human time driving dark roads, drinking in bars, making love or having sex, scrounging to earn their livings, and waiting for the meaning of their lives to become evident. In all the coupling, uncoupling, the lies and moments of truth-telling... Haight grants some of his characters the wisodm to know what it means to step from disguise, to seek love, to take the world as given, and make lives that might matter."

The funds raised on Kickstarter will be used for cover design, copy editing, and preliminary promotion all of which are entering the final stages. There are a few more details to handle with my publishing company, Will to Power Publishing, and setting up the title with my distributor, Lightning Source.
If the Kickstarter project succeeds, I'll publish the book in two formats:
* A paperback edition, with a full color cover, for Kickstarter supporters and online and retail distributors
* An eBook for devices such as the Kindle, Nook and iPad.
The key in this process has been to surround myself with knowledgeable professionals who know what they are doing (because I certainly do not). This has made all the difference. Now, please help me pay them what they deserve! If this goes well we will also do a book launch in late August and with your help we can. Thanks for your support, whether in word, action or pledge.
Help us bring Me and Mrs. Jones to the unsuspecting world!
Thank you in advance...
