About this project
EZ-Aim was conceived early this year. I was practicing my putt one day on the carpet and tried to analyze how the ball would behave right after it is hit. I found that the golf ball was not only rolling but was also spinning sideways slightly. How could this happen? I found out later that the face of my putter was not square (pointing to the intended target) at impact. I tend to twist the shaft excessively as it swings downward. I began to wish for a tool that could prevent shaft twisting from happening. I thought of different ideas and settled with the idea of putting two rods on the putter face. My idea is now patent pending, filed in February 2013. Again, I invented the device because poor aim in putting is a mistake common not only to me but also to most golfers. To correct poor aim, EZ-Aim helps you instantly point to the target as well as orient body alignment. The rods will help you visualize the line of sight and encourage impact of the golf ball right on the "sweet spot" or center of mass. Most importantly, you can see and feel the swing plane of your putt. It will give you instant feedback on your last putt. EZ-Aim is both a training aid and an indicator. Your feel and view on putting will never be the same once you try it.
Achievements: I have preliminarily materialized the concept as a prototype which is a plastic rod with a permanent magnet embedded in the head of the rod. I have also designed the packaging as shown in the video. I have the specifications related to both the product and the packaging. What I am planning to do with the funds is to take care of the mould expenses (for both the blister package and the rod), CAD design fees for both the rods and the package, buy the samples, and cover shipping.
Risks and challenges
One of challenging parts of this endeavor is to find a cheap but good quality mould. I have now contacted several manufacturers and I have a particular one in mind who is not only affordable but also can deliver the finished product in late December 2013. The manufacturer can expedite the tooling so I can deliver your reward immediately! They can make the mould in 2-4 days and start mass production as soon as the tooling and payment transaction are completed. There will be about 10-12 business days for shipping via FedEx.
