Swede and Amber take on the vocal works of John W. Duarte, recording them so you can hear sincere sounds and witty ditties.
John Duarte is amongst a handful of serious guitar composers of the twentieth century, but to date there has yet to be a complete recording of his guitar and vocal compositions. We plan to remedy that by making a comprehensive collection of his works available to the public.
With your investment we will be able to bring together artists with the tools and facilities needed to bring these timeless pieces to today's audience.
- Step #1: Unite!
- Step #2: Rehearse!
- Step #3: Record!
- Step #4: Manufacture!
- Step #5: Send out the rewards!
Remember, we must reach our goal to receive any of this funding. If you can't back us with money, you can still support us by sharing our project with others who may be interested. Thank you!
To hear an example of Swede and I performing together, here is a clip of a Duarte song from our 2007 live recital performance:
Note from Amber: This is from Duarte's most popular vocal work, the Five Quiet Songs. As much as I enjoy that song set, I think Friends and Lovers is much more fun, incorporating jazz and wit in a much more provocative way.
