About this project
Hello, we’re Alexander and Johan, two entrepreneurs and watch aficionados. Since early 2014 we have design and developed a series of watches that we are extremely proud of and eager to share with you!
We’ve had a clear idea from the start where to find our inspiration, the place where we both grew up - the Swedish west coast. A beautiful place filled with important memories for us.
The love and passion for watches is something we’ve carried with us for a long time and so is the dream of creating our own watch brand. And now, with your help, that dream will become a reality.
One of our guiding principals is to design watches that will never go out of style. Classic, simple watches with subtle details, a touch that gives you that little extra. In other words, create watches that will keep you intrigued for years to come.
Our goal with Tusenö is to become an established watch brand within the next 10 years, we are not just going to produce this collection and then close down shop. We want to do this for real, this is our future.
Our first collection of watches is named "First 42". The name represents Tusenö's first model and the case diameter being 42 mm
Even though all the watches in the collection carry the same name, every single model has its own unique look, making it different from the other watches.
Our rosé gold version with white face comes with a exquisite brown suede strap that goes along great with the overall look of this watch.
The look of the alpha hands changes depending on the light and reflections, giving the watch a beautiful look.
The First 42 will look just as good by the pool as it will in the office.
Combined with a mesh strap the First 42 changes to a more sporty and modern looking watch.
A vast amount of time has been spent on perfecting the design, resulting in a watch that carry lot of subtle details, some of them not even noticeable at first glance. Here some of them are described.
As a flirt with older watches, we decided to give the sapphire crystal glass a slightly convex shape, giving it a beautiful curved reflection from certain angles without causing to much distortion.
In some angles, when the light strikes our white dial watches you will be able to see the discrete blue colour displayed on the hands of the chronograph. We call the color deep ocean blue.
With every leather and suede strap comes a butterfly clasp, in our minds the most classic and elegant way of closing your strap and an obvious choice for us.
When reflected in the light, our black faced watches that features a stunning sun-ray dial truly come to life.
The white faced watches has a more classic subtle look, with the blue chronograph hands it represent elegance that will never go out of style. The two chronograph dials are slightly lowered, giving the watches an extra element of life and detail.
By mixing polished and brushed finishes throughout, the watches really come to life.
We always use the best possible materials, whilst still keeping the watches affordable.
The First 42 models are made of 316L surgical grade stainless steel, they feature a slightly convex sapphire crystal glass treated with a anti-reflective coating making it scratch resistant, usable and beautiful to look at.
For the straps we decided to use both genuine leather, suede and mesh, creating four unique designs which will hopefully appeal to you.
The VK64 from Japanese Seiko is a fairly new movement but it has already been hailed as a great movement by many people in the watch industry.
With the VK64 you get all the benefits of a quartz movement, reliability, precision, ease of use and affordability. You also get a sweeping seconds hand (5 beats per second), and the characteristic feel of the start, stop and reset button that you usually only get from a mechanical movement. This is done through incorporating mechanical parts to the quartz movement that drives the chronograph. Best of both worlds, one could say.
Our focus has been to incorporate lot of small details that reminds us of the Swedish west coast in the design. This contributes to the overall classic and intriguing look of the First 42.
We choose not to include a date window, the design simply didn’t look as good with it as without. For us the uncluttered feel to the dial outweighed the functionality of a date window.
The decision of giving the watch a 42mm case size mainly came from our own choice of style but it was also the most popular size according to a survey we conducted. A versatile size that works in any situation, for both men and women.
STRETCH GOAL 1 - Additional strap
The Silver/Black is going to get an extra black crocodile embossed leather strap.
The Rosé gold/Black will get an extra suede strap.
The Silver/White will get an mesh strap.
The Rosé gold /White will get an extra brown crocodile embossed leather strap
STRETCH GOAL 2 - Strap changing tool
This stretch goal we decided together with our backers. A strap changing tool is perfect since you get two straps included with every watch and the tool makes changing them a lot more simple!
Note that the strap changing tools on the picture are not yet set in stone, we are still looking for the best possible alternative.
We are extremely picky when it comes to quality and details, everything must be perfect.
Even though it may seem like a long time to wait, we believe you, our customers are just as picky as we are and are willing to wait a little bit to get the best possible quality.
As production stretches over the holidays this may cause a small delay, which we have accounted for in the timeline above.
Note that since we are a Swedish company, VAT and taxes may be added on to orders from outside the EU.
This is our dream and passion. We are in this for the long run. Our vision is to get Tusenö to become an established watch brand within the next ten years and hopefully these watches can become future classics that will be worn for many years to come. We will forever be grateful if you can help us fulfil our dream of creating our first collection, and maybe in ten years time you can think back on the time when you were part of creating a new great watch brand!

Risks and challenges
The factory we work with is a very reputable watch factory with a solid background of creating good quality watches.
All communication with the factory has been fast and smooth and we’re happy to say that they are as focused on quality as we are.
We believe that we have reduced the risk of manufacturing delays in the best way possible by good communication and solid prototype work. Of course one can never be fully certain when it comes to manufacturing and the estimated delivery time is only an estimation.
We have set a delivery time to late February/early Mars and we really believe we can keep that timeline and will do everything in our power to do so.
To ensure that every watch is created to our high standards we will keep a constant contact with our factory and we will have quality controls both at the factory and in Sweden before shipping.
Nevertheless we will keep you, our backers, up to date during every step of the production process and we will always be as transparent as possible if there are any hiccups.
We hope this will be a smooth ride for us and for you.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
