We made it!

Please come visit us in the exhibition hall in Minneapolis, if you are coming to Netroots. More news to come, thanks to you all.

77% to our goal/9 hours to go!

Thanks again for all your support.

We're almost there!!! We need $1100 more and have 9 hours to find it. Hoping you'll help us reach our goal to launch the Netroots movie project by reaching out to your community and sending them our link:

Ken and Dan and Chris and I have been brainstorming about our first shoot and are terrifically excited about the kind of footage we'll glean next week.

We want your help too. Since this is a project about the netroots, we want to enlist the netroots in the actual filming. To find out how you can use your phone, flipcam, or camera and participate, contact

Hope to be reporting back tomorrow with our success!

75% of the way there

Hi all,

We're excited to say we're 75% to our $5000 goal to get our crew to Minneapolis to launch the Netroots: new media, new democracy? film project --with less than 48 hours to go!

As you may know, Kickstarter is an all or nothing platform. Please help us go the distance by posting our link to your networks or passing it along to anyone you think might be interested.

Every $10 or $20 donation makes a difference!!

Marcia, Ken, Dan, & Chris

Almost half way there!

Thanks to all of you who have stepped up to help us get to Minnesota with our crew. This is Marcia writing, one of the PatchWorks Films team working with Five Steps Forward (Dan and Chris).

We've bought our plane tickets and are banking on getting the remaining $2654 to get us to the Netroots convention in a few weeks. Our goal: to meet Netroots folks, talk to them about the ideas in the film, enlist helping filming in locations around the country, AND most importantly film enough to put together a sample reel to get production funding.

I have to admit that our fundraising goal may seem a bit unrealistic, given the shortness of the timeline. But we have an intriguing and timely project, a good network, and a terrific team, so we are confident we can do it.

Can you help us get the word out by sharing our link with friends or others you think share our vision?

And, if you can do some filming in your town or city, let us know. We're trying to gather footage (on any format--phone, flip cam, video camera) that will help us tell the story of the folks who come to Netroots. We'll send instructions.
