Funding for printing of an individually numbered, limited-edition* short story collection, The Chrysalis of Matter, plus audio CD. Read more

About this project
These stories represent my wildest and very best psychedelic-horror science fiction to date! All fiction appearing in The Chrysalis of Matter are previously written and/or published, except for one exclusive bonus—City Life, 2012, inspired by Terrence McKenna and his concept of the Time Wave Singularity, and which I am completing throughout the duration of this Kickstarter campaign.
Upon the completion of funding my project, I will email you an audio recording (.mp3) of a reading of my Lovecraftian Craigslist spoof ad, Wanted: Cat Assassin, by professional voice talent Ian Stuart. Honestly, this reading exceeded my wildest expectations!
Funding for this project also supports other artists who have generously contributed their time and talent to the production of this Kickstarter campaign:
Cover artwork, hand-drawn illustration by Jason Stewart, honorarium of $125. Professional Reading of Wanted; Cat Assassin by Ian Stuart , honorarium of $50. Professional Film trailer, directed and edited by Geoff Peterson, honorarium of $50. Professional Graphic Designer, to make the cover look more interesting that what you see here, TBD, honorarium $50-75.
Great care and quality will go into the physical printing of this collection, to make it a real "cultural artifact," not a "typical" book! I will keep this page updated on that progress.
My ultimate goal is to grow a readership and support base to kickstart my professional writing career. I have chosen to self-publish this collection because all of the material fits a common aesthetic, has been previously recognized for its quality, and edited by a professional. Expected delivery, May 2011, check the updates tab.
• Harvest (The Fourth River, 2006) • City Life, 2012 (Unpublished, 2011) • Annelid (Resident Aliens, 2010) • Hexagon (Snow Monkey, 2005, Pseudopod, 2010) • Swoon (Forthcoming, 2011)
*I don’t know how many copies will be printed, this will be determined by the level of funding and any “overfunding” will go to additional copies. By my estimates, copies will number between 600 and 1000 at the very, very most. Each copy will be hand numbered.
