Well with only a few days to go we are not going to reach our funding goal. For anyone who is reading this please check out our Facebook page or our website. We are going to change the game, as well as change the approach to Kickstarter. There were some really good things that I did my first time out and some really bad things. We're going to learn from our mistakes and come back stronger than ever! We are turning this game into a Deck-Building game and it's coming along very nicely so far, and this should really help change how much fun the game is going to be, so please keep up with us on Social Media or our blog posts on our website to see everything that we are going to be doing! Thanks everyone, we'll see you again here shortly!
Dinner's at 4:30 is a board game for 2 to 6 players set in an Assisted Living Home. As the clock begins to tick the elderly patrons in the home realize that it's almost dinner time and they are now on a mission. Get to the window seat! Use your guile, wisdom, and even dentures to get past the others in your way, because the best thing to go with Cabbage Rolls tonight will be the view.
Here is an in-depth look at the game as well as the rewards.
Players each start in the same location and then choose their path to reach the cafeteria. You will use Attack, Boost, and Event cards to hinder the other players and help yourself along the way. Using Step cards moves you down the hallways, along with some other ways that are scientifically proven to make the elderly go faster. Of course we're talking about Tennis Balls on the bottom of a walker.
(*Update* Play-testing has shown us that players want bigger step spaces and so our awesome artist has agreed to revamp the board to accommodate this. Anything we can do to make the game better!)
The game is fast moving and lasts anywhere from 15 to 25 minutes depending on the number of players. There are 3 phases in each player's turn: Draw, Action, and Movement phases.
The game starts with whoever is the oldest person among the players since they are the closest to living in a home like this, then moves clockwise. Players will draw cards to start their turn, then can play either an Attack, or Boost card. After this they then can play a Step card to move them along the way. Event cards are the last cards players can draw at random and these events range from a quick boost to the player or devastating setbacks for someone. Events can be played at anytime, during anyone's turn, even if they are currently missing a turn.
Players first goal is to reach the cafeteria, and once there they can't be attacked by any other players unless those players are also in the cafeteria. Then players can either play a Step card or declare they are rolling for steps to reach the final 6 steps to the window seat. Players have to get exactly the right steps though to get into the seat.
Players also can either play with the character cards or choose not to. Playing with the characters gives some extra benefits from certain cards.
Dinner's at 4:30 includes everything you need to play the game, including 80 game cards, dice, figures, the gameboard, and rules! The rules are simple to learn after a few minutes which allows players to jump right in and start playing!
We found one of the most talented artists for the game, Scott McClanahan. Scott helped design all the artwork from scratch from his crazy mind, and was incredible to work with.

We have a few different rewards through which you can support us.
$25 - For this pledge you will receive one (1) copy of the game Dinner’s at 4:30
$35 - With this pledge you will receive one (1) copy of the game, and a super soft t-shirt with our company logo on it. We didn't want to get just any shirt but one that you'll want to wear over and over because of how comfortable it is. We pre-ordered some shirts to make sure they were as soft and comfortable as we were promised and we can't stress enough how ridiculously comfortable these shirts are.
These Shirts will be available in standard unisex sizes XS-4XL , and your choice of either a white logo design or black logo design. There are no price differences in sizes or design, and you can even order individual shirts after the game is funded.
$45 – (Only 60 Total) For this pledge you will receive one (1) copy of the game, the T-shirt, and a limited edition Collector Coin. Some people are Kickstarter fanatics, and so we’ve created a special limited edition coin. We’ll release these coins with each game in limited numbers, and we know that a minimum of 3 games are to be released in the future. There will only be 60 of these coins available at this pledge, and 40 more that will be available at the next tier. These coins are roughly 2” by 2”, and here is the image that will appear on the coin.
***For the next reward level it is important for you to click on the link below as these are the images that backers can edit. We did not want to fill up this page with every image from the game for this reward*** (We also had no choice but had to make each one of these rewards individual instead of combining them into one, so our apologies on so many rewards filling up the right side of the screen)
$150 – (Only 40 Total) Please visit the “Kickstarter Reward Images” tab to see every image available for this reward! http://noechogames.com/pledge-images/
For this pledge you will receive one (1) copy of the game Dinner’s at 4:30, the T-shirt, the limited edition Collector Coin, and you will get to have the name of your choice appear on one of the cards that will be published for all time. You can either select your own name as a Kickstarter Backer, or you can choose someone else's name to include.
This game was created with our grandparents in mind. We wanted to make a game that allowed us to laugh with them at all the crazy things that take place. Each of the characters in the game have the first name of our grandparents. We wanted to provide a way for others to celebrate their grandparents, or anyone you may choose who has a special meaning in your life. With this pledge you will get to have the name of your choice in the lower right corner of one of the Attack, Boost, or Event cards. By pledging this we agree that for as long as we publish this game these names will always be included in every set.
Below are some examples of the cards and what they could say. (***We reserve the right not to publish any obvious offensive names, like curse words, etc. We honestly don't see this becoming a major problem for this reward but in addition if you submit something like "Boaty McBoatface" then we may ask you for a new name.)
If you're interested in this reward please remember that these are first come first serve, and if there's a particular image you want to get then you'll have to be quick about it when we go live. To see all the images that you can choose from then you have to go to our website, and view the Kickstarter Reward Images tab. Since each image is different then we will include all of these individual image rewards (on the right hand side) and you'll just have to find the name associated with the image from our website. http://noechogames.com/pledge-images/
Shipping - We are going to be using Amazon for our shipping fulfillment. If you love the game you'll even be able to tell your friends it will be on Amazon.com to purchase after the game officially ships.
International Shipping - We will be able to ship the game for International Backers, but we are not going to be able to ship either the shirt, or coin at this time. The cost of shipping the T-shirt, and coin is simply too expensive for International Shipping outside the U.S. and Canada. Even shipping the game by itself is expensive, but we still want you to get the game if you're outside the U.S. and so at this time we're going to offer the game by itself at the $25 pledge to European Union countries. The cost of shipping the game to the E.U. is $20 added at checkout. Shipping to Canada will vary depending on which reward is selected as the price increases per item to ship.
Support - We are using Backerkit (backerkit.com) as the support team helping with all of the surveys, FAQ's, and customer questions you may have. They can provide logistical support for backers of the game in case you need to update your address, or maybe even buy an additional game or t-shirt, so great customer support is included with your pledge!
Publishing - AdMagic is going to be our publisher and manufacturer of this game, and possibly our other games down the road. They have a ton of experience in making quality games. These are the publishers of Exploding Kittens, one of the most successful Kickstarter games of all time, and they have been incredibly helpful and supportive.

A Special Thank You
I wanted to specifically mention my friend Ryan Ketner. "Ket" was supposed to be my partner in this venture, and he and I spent many months planning the future of No Echo Games, collaborating on ideas, and just trying to get all the small things in place before we got to the meat of a Kickstarter campaign.
We had grown apart over the years but that's what happens to high-school best friends. It was this game brought us back together, putting one another in each other's lives and helped rekindle that friendship we had so long ago. Ket wasn't able to see how far we were to come because he passed away in October of 2015. Having to move ahead without him has been more difficult than I can explain, but without him at the beginning of this venture I don't know if I'd be here ready to release this game today. So to him I just want to say, "thank you buddy, I hope I made you proud".
Risks and challenges
The game is now complete, all the artwork is done, and final editing of the cards will be finished as soon as the campaign completes its 30 day cycle. Once we go live there shouldn't be anything that stops the game from going straight to the manufacturer after we're funded!
Thanks everyone! We hope you'll enjoy this game for years to come!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
