INSPIRED: The Movie is a documentary that explores what inspires individuals to change their lives through health and fitness, and the factors that ultimately determine success or failure.
Inspiration from our film has already gone viral!
We recently edited a short 5-minute video from our film's footage and it was posted to YouTube to gauge interest and see if the message was on target. If you haven't seen it yet, we greatly recommend it! Here is that video:
What did we learn?
After 5+ million views, we discovered that nearly everyone can connect with the message of our film. We all yearn for inspiration, whether it's for becoming healthy, or any goal that's worthwhile in life. Our years of hard work was in many ways validated by this short clip.
We were floored when celebrities started sharing our video on Twitter and Facebook. Here are some of the most recent quotes:
"Want 2be inspired to what's possible if you never give up? Take 4 min now and watch this..."
"Stop what you are doing, and watch real magic."
"This is very inspiring"
The message to us was loud and clear - we need to finish this documentary so more people might be inspired!
And so, we need your help! Please consider any donation to our project. If we can get only a fraction of the youtube viewers to pledge just $5 - $10, we could easily reach our goal. Every pledge counts! Considering that our DVD will be priced above $25 on its release date - if you want this movie, the $25 pledge is basically a pre-purchase at a lower cost!
In 2004 we decided to get into the best shape of our lives - and we did it! We had no idea it would change our view of the world - it changed EVERYTHING. We believed that by showing others the process of transformation, we might be able to inspire them to change, and to learn about themselves along the way. And so INSPIRED: The Movie was born.

What is our Kickstarter goal? What will the money go to?
We have set our funding goal here on Kickstarter at $25,000, even though we're trying to raise $75,000. That's because if we don't reach our funding goal here, we don't get any of the pledges (and no one is charged). So we thought a smaller amount would get us to the next stage of the process... but there's always a chance we might exceed our goal with this campaign!
The costs associated with completing a film add up quickly! Here are some of the major costs ahead of us:
- Final Editing: $20,000
- Animation: $16,000
- Final Music Score: $10,000
- Conform, Color Correction and Graphics: $28,400
- Audio Mix: $12,000
- HD Cam Conversion: $1100
We have exhausted our funds for creating this film, and really need to bring in additional professionals to complete it.
Thanks so much for considering a pledge!
When Do We Plan to Release the Film?
We plan to release INSPIRED: The Movie in early 2013. Our schedule is to finish editing by the end of the summer and then submit the film in the fall to Sundance, Slamdance, Tribeca, SXSW, and other film festivals. Depending on whether we get accepted to these festivals, the film may be released sooner if we don't find a good home for it to screen first.
Can we exceed the goal?
Yes! We hope we can! The more funds we raise, the more empowered we are to put INSPIRED: The Movie in the public eye and spread the word about this topic that touches all of our lives!
Can donors increase pledges once they have been made?
Absolutely! If you have already donated, and are signed in to your account, then instead of a green “Back This Project” button on our page, look for the “Manage Your Donation” button. Click that, and you can enter a new amount or choose a new incentive!
What do donors receive for giving?
We hope donors realize the amazing impact this film can have on a global scale! We believe we have uncovered the true secrets to succeeding in health and fitness, and the little things we overlook that make the difference between success and failure. We all know friends and loved ones who need inspiration and tools to transform their lives into healthier and happier ones. We all know the potential exists within everyone, but how do we unlock it? You can be a part of this amazing project, and receive a few gifts as well. Whether you donate $5 or $500, your impact is felt, and our appreciation is the same.
What happens if the goal isn’t reached in time?
If we don’t reach our goal, we don’t get any money – and if we can’t fund the post production and marketing our film, we will still finish the film, but it will take us longer! Plus, we may not have the resources to make it everything we know it can be. Let’s not let that happen!
How can I contact you?

The Wordy Part (if you like to read more!):
Films often give us as viewers some form of escape from our own lives, and occasionally they may strike a nerve within our own minds that changes how we think and act outside of a theater. Films such as Rocky, Shawshank Redemption and Forrest Gump offer us a look at ordinary people as they overcome extraordinary odds to succeed. But how often do we translate such inspiring stories into how we live our own lives? Perhaps an up and coming boxer finds inspiration from a story about Rocky Balboa, and perhaps a falsely accused convict in prison is hopeful of ultimate redemption. Most stories however, remain as stories…they inspire us for a moment, entertain us, but fail to change our view of how we should live our lives.
Documentaries often highlight social issues in a shocking manner in order to raise awareness to a problem or topic that is socially relevant. Documentaries such as Supersize Me, An Inconvenient Truth, Born Into Brothels, and Bowling for Columbine approach topics from an alarmist point of view, in attempt to inspire change in the world by shocking us.
What if we can capture the minds of more movie goers by finding a common thread that we can directly relate to our own lives…a challenge in which millions of people worldwide can identify with such as losing weight. We believe that once we can generate a strong bond with the viewers and our subjects, we can inspire them to look within their own lives and inspire profound change.
While you might expect a documentary about weight loss to shock you into changing your lifestyle with statistics, and exaggerations, a documentary that can inspire the viewer can spark an intense desire to change, and have a further reaching impact on the world unlike any film has ever done.
