About this project
(NOTE: in the video above, the shade will actually display the message on the other side, so the driver of the other car can read it when they look over at you)
I get it... I mean, I'm an American. I believe in my constitutional rights, I even spent 10 years in the U.S. Air Force protecting those rights; but when someone sits right in front of me (there's 3 people in my family that have done so) and says they'll sit in the fast lane regardless of what anyone thinks, well, that makes me want to strangle people a little.
EXAMPLE#1 (I do not own this video, see here for credit:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LZhdvl_P1Zc)
EFF that, it makes me want to strangle people a lot! I'm not allowed to do that, though, and neither are you. So what are our options? We're cruising along in the fast lane, checking our mirrors like a good driver does, making sure if someone is behind us we move out of the way for them to pass... somehow, we're supposed to just put up with these arrogant f**ks? Know what's a terrible idea? Flipping out and riding their tail lights. Swerving all over the lane trying to get their attention. Flashing your lights repeatedly. Those are all natural responses but they could also get you killed. No, we need a more passive, yet powerful response to such rude and inconsiderate people.
I present to you the EFF YOU shade (or a name of a backer's creation, depending on the $250 donation category). There's stupid people all over the world sharing their moronic opinions and doing stupid crap under the first amendment... let's express how it make us normal people feel using the EFF YOU shade!
Risks and challenges
1. well, I have to procure the shades. I looked and they are all over the net, so unless this really takes off I don't see a problem. If it takes off, I will contact a manufacturer and work out a plan.
2. I'll need to test some different methods of lettering to ensure maximum quality and readability
3. packaging; I'll say it now, cost will be an issue. So, I don't plan on using too sophisticated a packaging system to ship these out
4. currently the plan is to provide an easy, yet unobtrusive method for securing these to the driver side; I'm thinking the 'oh sh*t' handle (drivers rarely use that anyway). If funding is successful, I'll need to get the shades and investigate the best method. I really don't see a problem here, either
To be honest, I can't really think of any?Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
