Hi everyone! Thanks for taking the time to check out my Kickstarter campaign. This book has been a few years in the making, and I'm really excited to have finally completed all of the artwork. Now I need your help to bring this book to print!
Copy Cat vs The Bullies is a book about a young cat named Copy who has trouble thinking for himself. He always followed the other animals and only did whatever they did until one day, Copy started following the wrong kind of kids. Copy Cat vs The Bullies is a book about being true to yourself and standing up to do the right thing.
This book will be a beautiful Hard Cover Edition with a full colour Dust Jacket and 34 full colour illustrations as seen here.
Studiocomics Press will be printing 500 copies of this first printing Kickstarter edition with your help, and once printed, I will be signing and mailing to each backer, personally.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Blair Kitchen is a classically trained animator (that means pencil and paper like the old days). He lives outside of Toronto, Canada in a small town called Carlisle, where he works as a storyboard artist and animator for many studios, including Dreamworks, Warner Brothers, Disney, Blue Sky, and many more. Blair is also the creator and artist of the self published comic series called The Possum (which you can see below!) To see more of Blair's work, visit www.possumpress.com
WHERE THIS BOOK CAME FROM
Shortly after my wife, Rochelle and I were married in 2000, I found out that I had a liver condition that would one day require me to have a liver transplant. In 2012, that day came. I am an Animator and Storyboard Artist by trade and have a hard time sitting still and not drawing, so while I was in the hospital and recovering, unable to work I wrote and illustrated 50% of this book. It sat unfinished in my studio as life once again became busy, raising 3 children, coaching hockey and working as an animator and storyboard artist to support my family. 5 years after my initial transplant, problems occurred and I was forced to undergo yet another liver transplant.
Since I found myself, again, bed ridden and recovering, I decided it was time to finish the book I had started in the same hospital it all began in, 5 years earlier.
Now all the artwork is completed and I am once again a busy father and husband, raising 3 (growing) children, supporting my family as an animator and storyboard artist. Life is good!!

Risks and challenges
Since 99% of the artwork is completed for this project, there are very little risks, other than me getting hit by a bus and not being able to sign the books. (In the case of both my wife and I getting hit by the same bus, my children will have to take on the task of mailing all of the books to each of you fine backers, I like our chances of things working out!)
I have put a lot of time, and hard work into this project and after self publishing 5 comic books and being a professional animator for over 20 years, I know what it takes to see projects to completion. I am determined to see this through. Thanks again for reading this far!
