Freaky Constantina ballerina!
Freaky Constantina a.k.a. Jon Holmes of Destructoid fame will play a part in the proceedings if the game gets funded. He is prepared to humiliate himself just to help get lilt line too! made - what a noble warrior & a gent!
lilt line too needs you!
with your help, lilt line too! could become one of the finest music games ever to grace your face.
the aim is to build on the success of the award winning original, improve it in every way imaginable & make it all jump to the varied and disturbing beats of the supremely talented ill.gates!
lilt line too will feature:
- at least 20 new levels
- longer levels, each one being a whole song in length
- new game modes: fresh (full 3d environment) & classic (top down view)
- local multiplayer (collaborative)
- online multiplayer (combative)
- new level innovations - height variations, speed & time changes, loop the loops...
- all new music from the brilliant and diverse repertoire of ill.gates!
the plan is to involve the music game community as much as possible in the development of lilt line too!, we will be listening to & incorporating all your best ideas! (more on that in a few weeks, we are currently building a 3d-online-suggestion-racing-box-sort-of-thing)

it's appearance on other platforms will depend on whether we reach our stretch goals, so hopefully we can grace Vita and even Wii U too! now that would be delicious...
so what do we need the money for?
put simply: to make the game.
what has been shown of the game is early prototype footage: we have the system up and running in the engine, a few prototype levels synched to ill.gates ace music, and that's it.
more specifically the money will fund the following:
- my time to build lilt line too!
- ill.gates skills to make everything sound amazing
- Unity Pro & iOS Pro licenses
we intend to start work on the game in October and be finished 10 months later in August next year.
and that's it really - we know we have a great game in the works with insanely amazing music, so if you like what you see please support us!
if we raise more than the amount being requested here we will use the money to bring lilt line too! to new platforms, namely:
£35,000 - Vita *
£45,000 - WiiU **
* we have chatted to the excellent Shahid Kamal at Sony & it looks like we can borrow a Vita dev kit!
** we have also chatted to the supremely ace Dan Adelman at Nintendo and he is willing to loan us a WiiU dev kit!

Risks and challenges
there are risks inherent in every video game project.
in our case some of the features may not work well enough as i have described them, in which case they will be prototyped until they do or stripped out. that's the nature of making games in our experience, you have to be prepared to be flexible and do what's best for the game itself.
we will not be increasing the scope of the project even if we make 10x the funding requirement, so the scope creep that other successful Kickstarters have suffered from will not be an issue here.
i know that we can make a great, unique rhythm game on iOS, partly because we have done it before with the original lilt line, partly because of the intelligence and brilliance of ill.gates & his enthusiasm for the project, and partly because of my recent experience releasing a console game in a team of two (Derrick the Deathfin). you can believe me when i say that was a lot harder ;)
there will of course be challenges and problems along the way, but if we are successfully funded i am confident these can be overcome & we will make a slinky synesthetic orgy for your eyes & ears!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
