Let's Talk About Technology
Today user experience is painful because technology makes things complex. The truth is that all our devices speak in different languages.
This confusion leads to arguments and dissatisfaction adding unnecessary stress. We created the STACK Box so your technology is easy to use and your devices work together, and work with existing internet services or the cloud.

Who Is The STACK Box For?
Due to the vast amount of devices that employ remote controls and programming them, universal remote controls that manage multiple devices are becoming increasingly popular, but none of them really do the job well and lack the interaction with online internet services.
As Intel, Qualcomm, Samsung, Google and many others technology companies and gadgets makers are competing to define the standards. We aim to fill the gap by providing an open platform that allow both device makers and users more freedom of choice without investing huge resources nor time.
We created the STACK Box so your technology is easy to use and your devices work together, and work with existing internet services or the cloud.
How We Got Here
For the past two Years we've been designing, prototyping, coding, testing, building and occasionally restarting from scratch.
Where We Are Now
We recently successfully completed our first EVT build (engineering validation testing). This involved manufacturing, assembling and testing the functionality of both the hardware and software involved in the STACK Box.
Demo: It Works With Most All Things
We are working hard to improve the product and making new technology is not easy. Thanks for your continued support!
We are now starting our second EVT build to incorporate a number of changes and improvements we discovered while testing. After this, we will freeze changes in the electronics and move into DVT (design verification testing) where we will test everything from the mechanicals, to the electrical, to firmware and make sure everything works as designed.
The final stage is doing a PVT (production verification testing) run which is designed to assure the required quality and robustness.

Why Support Our Kickstarter?
We already have initial funding (meaning our project does what it says it does) and without investing our own savings, could not have created working hardware prototypes and developed our App. We however need your support to drive volume manufacturing.
Our Company has succeeded "a Herculean task", as its a tough job making something that does not exist today!
Our Kickstarter is about bringing consumers, developers and manufactures together. We see Kickstarter as an outlet to get the word out and strengthen our product connection.
Help Us Build Our Brand
We can only achieve our Brand objective by exceeding your expectations! THANK YOU for your partnership, support and belief that we are making something that matters.
? Ask Anything About Connectivity
The Internet of Things (IoT, also Cloud of Things or CoT) refers to the interconnection of uniquely identifiable embedded computing-like devices within the existing Internet infrastructure.
In computer science, a stack is a particular kind of abstract data type or collection in which the principal (or only) operations on the collection are the addition of an entity to the collection, known as push and removal of an entity, known as pop. The relation between the push and pop operations is such that the stack is a Last-In-First-Out (LIFO) data structure
4 BIG Challenges For The Internet of Things
#1 Data Control: From the user perspective, this is a personal.
#2 Data Sharing: Data is King! Data provisioning is owned by large corporations.
#3 Lack of a Shared Infrastructure: The vertical nature of this platform makes it hard to improve.
#4 Lack of Common Standards: Open standards are needed, as this benefits users.
Open-source software (OSS) is computer software with its source code made available with a license in which the copyright holder provides the rights to study, change and distribute the software to anyone and for any purpose.
Risks and challenges
The STACK Box Production
The STACK Box is designed and engineered by Cloud Media Sdn. Bhd. (Malaysia and San Francisco), and built to our exact specifications by our contract manufacturing (CM) partner in Shenzhen, China. We understand every step from design concept through to product fulfillment. Cloud Media has extensive experience supplying products around the globe to leading consumer electronics companies.
The Cloud Media and Shenshen Zowee Technology Development Co. Ltd. (CM) teams began collaborating at the early design stage two years ago. The STACK Box product was the brainchild of TL Lim, President of Cloud Media.
As the design progressed, we worked closely with the Shenshen Zowee team to ensure that the product was designed for the highest level of quality. The STACK Box is engineered to maintain this high level of quality as we transition into high-volume production. Only by working closely from the early stages with the Shenshen Zowee team of engineers, toolmakers, project managers, procurement specialists, packaging designers and production specialists is it possible to bring the level of quality we demand to market. We know this from experience!
To date we have completed our tooling for the STACK Box and our first samples of the final enclosure meet our quality specifications. We allocated 10 pre-production engineering sample units for rigorous testing including listening tests by Pepper-One. For these early units we designed and built the circuit boards, including final assembly, in Silicon Valley.
Our next step is to build 100 units for additional testing including Beta testing with future customers. Once we are fully satisfied with the final design Cloud Media will begin moving from our current engineering build environment in California to a pre-production facility at Shenzhen. We will then work with Shenshen Zowee to build out the final assembly line, install the test equipment, and do two more pilot builds before beginning production.
After multiple generations of prototypes and successive improvements, the latest generation of the STACK Box will have undergone extensive compatibility testing for over six months.
We believe the risks described above are manageable assuming a successful Kickstarter campaign.
Rewards & Fulfillment
Cloud Media plans to fulfill our product rewards directly from Hong Kong to our sponsors using a 20-day delivery schedule. We plan to start production in late summer and deliver the rewards to our Kickstarter supporters in December 2014.
Cloud Media is proud to keep our Kickstarter community informed on our progress through the various phases of our development and production process. Delays are typically due to long lead-times of sole-sourced electronics components or unexpected challenges in ramping up production. Our substantial experience of 15 years of producing quality electronics products should mitigate this risk.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
