A prototype is a preliminary model of something. Projects that offer physical products need to show backers documentation of a working prototype. This gallery features photos, videos, and other visual documentation that will give backers a sense of what’s been accomplished so far and what’s left to do. Though the development process can vary for each project, these are the stages we typically see:
Proof of Concept
Explorations that test ideas and functionality.
Demonstrates the functionality of the final product, but looks different.
Looks like the final product, but is not functional.
Appearance and function match the final product, but is made with different manufacturing methods.

On March 10th 2018, Delivery Parcel Solutions auditioned on Dragons Den. As expected, there were thousands of other projects being auditioned that day. However thanks to our owner Sak Johl who blew the judges away, we're proud to announce that we were selected to be one of the, one hundred and fifty, out of thousands selected by Dragons Den to film the “e-Com Case" in which it will then be aired for Season 13. This is the first step of our main goal to keep our neighborhood safe and more.
Meet the e-Com Case 1.0. A high-quality porch package bag that comes equipped with a number of features all designed to keep your parcels safe until you retrieve them. The e-Com Case 1.0, is designed and sold by a new startup from Victoria, Canada, called Delivery Parcel Solutions. With the e-Com case we offer an impressive number of features for online shoppers looking for ways to keep their packages safe. Let get into the features of the e-Com Case, starting with the bag itself. Constructed with a lightweight weather-resistant canvas and that weighs about 10 pounds. Its interior is lined with an insulating layer of material to help control climate for temperature-sensitive deliveries like groceries. We were particularly pleased by the thoughtfulness of the insulation as more and more consumers are beginning to purchase their groceries online. Delivery Parcel Solutions will offer it in the following three different sizes: Small: 18" long X 16" wide X 12" tall Medium: 24" long X 16" wide X 12" tall Large: 28" long X 20" wide X 14" tall The e-Com Case also comes with two locks and one motion sensor alarm and one key fob to turn the alarm on and off. the motion sensor will trigger a 110-decibel alarm if activated by someone picking the bag up.
1. Convenience: The Homeowner is not tied down or need not rush home to receive parcels. Regardless if the package is from Amazon, E-Bay, Walmart, or a major meal kit company (Hello Fresh), Fresh local vegetable, fruit and dairy, or a sister returning a casserole dish.
2. Peace of Mind: Knowing that once your parcel has been delivered ,to the e-Com case,it’s safe and secure.
3 .No Longer Exposed: Your packages are no longer left at the doorstep,in open view.Parcels that are not exposed will not attract robbers.Your e-Com case is weather resistant, protecting your package from the elements.
4. Missed Deliveries: No more “Sorry we missed you “stickers on the mailbox. No need to go to the depot ,to collect your package.
5.Camping, Beach, Picnics your food, drinks, lotion, sunglasses, personal items can be protected as you walk along the beach,or hike away from your campsite.
6.Shopping: Take the e-Com case to the supermarket, eliminating plastic bags and not having to rush home to unpack the groceries.
What if someone tries stealing my e-Com case? Even before a parcel is placed into an e-Com case your bag is protected. Although the e-Com case is empty, if the motion sensor alarm is armed your bag won’t get stolen. If the e-Com is tampered or attempted to be stolen a 110 decibel alarm rings if the bag is moved 4 feet. The alarm will ring for about 12 seconds and at that point the alarm will go silent. This doesn’t mean the coast is clear to now steal the e-Com case. If a second attempt is made to hijack the e-Com case the motion sensor alarm will ring once again. The motion sensor alarm can only be turned off by the key fob. Each time the bag is tampered with the motion sensor alarm rings for 12 seconds and then stops.
You purchase the e-Com case and it’s yours to keep, this is not a one time drop bag. There are no monthly monitoring charges annual fees or tracking expenses. Your e-Com case comes with 2 locks and one motion sensor alarm and one key fob to turn the alarm on and off. After receiving the e-Com case, your first step is to enter a personal code on the motion sensor alarm, you will then place motion sensor alarm into the pouch. Take the small lock and lock pouch. You should only have to unlock pouch to change the battery.
After ordering a parcel you go online to determine delivery date. Delivery Parcel Solution Does Not Provide this information, your shipping company would have provided a tracking number that you should be able to use to determine the day of delivery.
Take the e-Com case from the house or garage and place near doorstep or on doormat. Leave e-Com case unzipped and unlocked. Now arm motion sensor alarm, with the key fob and walk away. Delivery courier arrives, Drops package into e-Com case, he then proceeds to scan the bar code that is inside the e-Com case. scanning the bar code allows the homeowner and the carrier depot, know that the package was successfully delivered to the customers house. after the carrier scans the bar code he locks the case and walks away. Upon arriving home. disarm the motion sensor alarm with the key fob, unlock case, unzip and take both the parcel and e-Com case into the house.
Sak Johl is the owner of Delivery Parcel Solution, which is located in Victoria British Columbia, and is the mastermind behind the e-Com Case. Sak is a graduate of the University of Victoria, where he received a major in Marketing.
After graduating, Sak became the co-owner of a sawmill in Victoria BC, where he began his specialization in Financial Services. Soon afterwards, his expanding expertise in marketing allowed him to explore his creative side, where he would start planning ideas for products that would benefit not just him but the community as a whole. After watching too many videos on YouTube and television which were initially amusing, Sak realized that stolen parcels is becoming an increasing crime of opportunity and from here he created the e-Com Case. The aim of Delivery Parcel Solution, is to make our neighborhoods safer, Sak believes that there should be a simple, affordable solution to protecting your parcels from being exposed. With the help of award winning lock, bag and electrical engineers, Delivery Parcel Solutions has designed a case to protect your personal property. Everyone working on the project, including Sak Johl are itching to hear your feedback and we appreciate your time.
Risks and challenges
The e-Com case is a innovative concept that protects your personal property. There are adherent risks involved with designing a new product. The concept is based on a simple design, Locks and a motion sensor alarm. The prototypes are now been modified, these will now provide a bigger mesh pocket, a custom designed front e-Pinch Lock and customize designed cases. Along with these changes we are working on Prototype motion sensors that will be more efficient. These are minor obstacles that are now been addressed, with the support of our backers we are confident that our team at Delivery Parcel Solution will be able to meet the challenges to provide a safe, secure, insulated, portable, and affordable quality case by September 2018. Unfortunately at this stage of production the cost of shipping is passed on to you, the backers. as we grow this responsibility will be taken off your hands.
