About this project
I am thrilled that Dixon Place has decided to commission my latest work, premiering in April of 2011 for three weekends! Although they are providing the space as well as lots of support, they don't have enough money in the budget this year to fund the entire project. We already had a very successful workshop showing of the piece in April of 2010, and we are beginning work again this fall.
We need money to pay the dancers/actors, the designers (set, lighting, costume, sound), the stage manager, the video editor, the sound engineer, and for materials-- sets, costumes, props, equipment, etc. And although Dixon Place will be helping out, we still need to promote the thing, so we'll need to pay for some helpers to run around and spread the word to the Mexican population of New York-- they need to see this piece!
So, we are all geared up to go. I already have a space, a cast and designers-- now all we need is the funds. And kickstarter makes it so easy. All you have to do is choose your dollar amount and you automatically become a producer of this piece. And there are prizes to boot!
The exciting little catch is that we have to meet our goal of $10,000 or we don't get any of it (and those of you that donated will not be charged a cent). Help us make this goal. We will be ever so grateful.
And even if you cannot donate anything, send this link around and come see the show!
