Risks and challenges
We are extremely confident that we have something unique and special here.
We have built a small team of experts in the areas of visual arts, graphic design, business analytics, and marketing to make sure we have the most chance for success with this product. In addition, extensive research has been done across the board game and seasonal retail industries to show that it has high profitability.
The risk with this campaign is very low for you as a backer. The minimum goal for this project is strategically set at an amount to make sure all incentives can be satisfied, even allowing for a margin for error.
That being said, if only the minimum is met there will not be enough profit left over for another production run, rendering the campaign at a stand-still until more funding can be aquired. If that happens however, I will take the left over games and send them to radio stations, blog authors, magazine writers, and columnists in exchange for a review of it on their medium. This buzz should be enough to justify ordering more.
Our goal will be for the game to be completed by August, and in our backers' hands by late November 2019 (in time for the holidays). We will keep a close eye of every part of the production process and if signs of delays are arising we will do everything in our power to speed it up. The reason for starting this project this early is to have it ready in enough time to receive them by Christmas. I plan to make sure that happens.
After the project is funded, there may be final details to wrap up that we have not thought of. Simple things like a UPC code, product testing fees or making final detailed decisions on packaging. We have allowed a small margin in our sales projections to allow for this possibility.
So, in the end, the only real risk we run with this campaign is that after satisfying all rewards we may not have enough profit to make a second run of games, making it harder to keep the momentum of production going; however, we are working closely with a branding and marketing team that will help with this project. If there is enough exposure to this game, it will far exceed the goal. So please tell all your friends!
