Take a listen.Album Covers by Matt Buck, the artist who did JayZ's Decoded. Donators will get a digital download of the mix tape early.
My name's Elan aka King K.O.N.G. I'm a NY born situational story lyricist/actor. I've been writing lyrics since I was about 15 but everything prior to 09 was lost when a blackberry broke. As upset as I was about that, I continued writing. I filled a composition notebook for 2010,2011 and I just finished 2012, clearly very early. I hadn't written for many beats because they were all unoriginal and I hate when someone raps over some one else's beat because the song immediately gets compared to the original. So I wrote for internal beats for awhile, until I found a friend of a friend on Facebook, Fallacy.
He made his own beats using samples and they all had this great nostalgic feel that I loved. So I wrote something for a beat of his and basically asked to spit it to him through Facebook video chat. He didn't answer me until about the 5th time. He was like "yo, who's this?" and I had to explain "it's tommy's boy blaah blah blahh." Finally he let me spit it for him. I tried my best and I did horribly I had almost no confidence. I think I remember fumbling a couple lines and restarting so wasn't my best work. He said "work on it could be good and get back to me." SO that's what I did. I came back and asked to vid chat again soon after with another song or two done as well. This time I killed it and he knew it from that point on, he's been making me beats and I've been writing for them.
But I didn't have a studio to record in until recently. Now that I do, I'm grabbing every opportunity to use it but I want to bring you the best possible work as does everyone I'm working with so I'm creating this kick starter. Fallacy wanted an MPC2000XL to get a clearer rugged sound from the 90's and I found a couple used decently priced ones on craigslist, so I went out and got him one. Because I want to bring you the best sound possible. I also hired Matt Buck, an incredible artist who did the art for Jay-Z's Book Decoded to do the album cover, which is the project image at the moment. And Evan Munoz of Skuby Media to put together the layout I designed. Because I want to incorporate the music with some of the best artwork possible as well.
Abe vs. Kanye By Matt Buck
All $ will go to mix tape production and getting everyone their rewards. I'm having the mix tape packaged like a legit cd, because the art is worth it. And it's going to be free. Because in all honesty I don't buy Jay-Z's cd so who's going to buy mine....yet. I already have a store in huntington willing to display the cds and drop them in peoples bags. I also wanted to talk to an urban outfitters to do the same sort of thing but I would have to make a lot more cds because of the amount of traffic they get, so we will see. I also will be making a website where everyone can download K.O.N.G. for free.

I now have 3 songs on my sound cloud at the moment but I've recorded 6 and I'm waiting for them back. From what I've heard in the studio I'm very happy with them. I've been putting them up as I get them and all will be tweaked for the mix tape version w/ sound effects. I want to give you guys a decent sized product something like 15-20 songs on the mixtape and 6-12 on the EP. So Please help me out, I'll be working hard for you. I've left a link for anything you want to see about this project right under this. If you have any belief in my talents at all, please donate.
