About this project
Earth Burger was conceived by the team at Green Vegetarian Cuisine. Since 2007, we've become parents and faced many challenges raising small vegetarians. Finding food that they can eat when we're out running errands is a challenge -- and we want families to have more than just french fries to snack on when they need something fast and easy.
We want to be the first all plant-based fast food restaurant in Texas. We believe the best thing for our families is to go to the local farmer's market and take home fresh produce to prepare. However that is often unrealistic in today's fast-paced world.
That's where Earth Burger comes in. We are entering the fast food market with tastier, fresher and healthier alternatives that also happen to be vegan and vegetarian. Our goal is to provide people with great healthy choices at a great value.
At the same time we are doing something better for the planet. Compared to meat-based diets, plant-based diets are good for the environment.
Your Support Will Help Tremendously
Our Kickstarter project will contribute to the successful launch of our new restaurant plan called Earth Burger. Funds raised through Kickstarter will help with the cost of our build-out in Central San Antonio, and equipment purchases.
Where You'll Find Us
We've acquired a drive-thru building in the Park North Shopping Center at the corner of Blanco and NW Loop 410 in San Antonio, TX. Once we've reached our Kickstarter goals, you will be able to drive-thru or dine-in.
Why Earth Burger is Better
Earth Burger will provide nutrient rich plant-based fast food for people on the go! Our food will be free from hydrogenated oils or artificial colors. We'll provide whole wheat breads, organic sodas, and organic cheeses (for our non-vegan customers). Our menu is simple, and features our signature Earth Burger (featured in the video below in the Burger Challenge), Nacho Burger, Spicy Chik-n Sandwich, "Fish" Sandwich, Grilled Chik-n Protein Wrap, Chik-n Tender Basket, Fries, Hummus with Baby Carrots, Kale Salad, Edamame, Apple Slices and String Cheese.
Compared to leading fast food items, our Chik-n patty has 2 more grams of protein, Earth Burger's Chik-n Tenders have 3 more grams of diatery fiber, and the Earth Burger beefy patty has 61% less calories than its leading fast food beef patty.
Check out our video, and see what the community has to say in our taste challenges.
Here are a few items that will be on our menu.
Let's make history together -- help us launch Texas' first fast-food vegetarian restaurant.
Risks and challenges
San Antonio has a reputation for loving its meat and Tex-Mex food, and it also has the reputation of being one of the fatest cities in the U.S. So, one might say that it is risky to launch a plan-based fast food restaurant in San Antonio, Texas.
This was our same concern back in 2007 when we started Green Vegetarian Cuisine, San Antonio's first all vegetarian casual dining restaurant. The good news is that Texas has fully embraced Green, we've grown to three locations in San Antonio and Houston.
As founders of Green, Earth Burger owners come from a rich heritage of starting and successfully operating independent restaurants. Now we want to take our lessons learned and apply them to an all new concept where people can swing through a drive through and order a great tasting plant-based meal in less than three minutes.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
Yes, we will have gluten-free buns available. Plus we'll have an organic, gluten and soy free patty that is made out of brown rice, sunflower seeds, herbs, sea salt, quinoa.
Everything on our menu is vegan -- except for the gluten-free buns and string cheese. We will offer vegan cheese and organic (dairy) cheeses for people to choose from for their burgers.
