A wonderful person gave me a gift.
This person, my lady, booked a cabin on a mountain and a plane ticket for my brother to fly out so that we could record an album together. I've been recording under the name Peter Rainbeau for the past seven years (since moving to Portland), but unless your radar is tuned to a handful of people, these recordings would have not landed on your ears.
The recording at the cabin was one of the best experiences of my life. Just getting to hang out with my brother, who happens to be the best person I've ever known, let alone working collaboratively and with purpose for the first time in my long, small "music career". From the cabin we came back to Portland and recorded in the Steely Den (my music/rompus room) with the help and company of a bunch of great friends. Wow, that was a great week, but it wasn't finished.
After a couple months of working for money, I flew to Georgia (the land of my brother) to finish recording and have The Falcon put down some drums. Yes, The Falcon soars on this album.
So here we are; Mixing over a few days in August at an awesome studio (Type Foundry in Portland), then mastering, with the endgame being a very limited vinyl pressing of the album. Already, making the album has created enough moments for me to live a life perfectly happy. Your contribution will help cover costs of mixing, mastering and pressing and is not being used as reimbursement for money or time spent. Any excess will be squirreled away for the next one, due next year.
If you're able and inclined, please help out, and regardless, thank you for your time. Song in video is "Evens" from the aforementioned album.
