Bye bye, Button. Tapdo is moving on to new paths!
Today we reached our funding goal of €45,000 with little time left to spare. We greatly appreciate your support and confidence and we want to say THANKS to all of you!
The past weeks were fast-paced and full of new insights for us, including feedback of all our backers, friends and tech experts that we’ve met and talked to along the way. Many people told us that they are favourably impressed by our interaction concept. The idea of using different parts of the hand in order to create shortcuts to control one’s devices fascinated them.
Besides all those affirmative and motivating reactions, we also gathered valuable feedback about the actual realisation of the Tapdo interface as a solitary button. People want the Tapdo concept to be integrated in hardware devices that already exist such as: smartwatches, fitnesstrackers, cars and smart home systems.
Listening to our backers and gathering some experienced opinions, we came to the conclusion, that we want to change our orientation in order to make Tapdo an ongoing success in the future. This is the reason why we decided to cancel our crowdfunding even though we reached our funding goal.
Lessons learned, moving on to new paths: We want to shift away from the Tapdo button/wearable concept, allowing for our partners to use their own hardware devices connecting to our interaction platform. Tapdo won’t be available as a button on a wristband in the near future. Instead, we want to integrate fingerprint sensors into existing hardware devices and enable to connect them to our software.
We want the Tapdo platform to become an ecosystem for biometric interaction. We are already talking with potential partners and we are confident that – with their support – you will soon be able to use the integrated Tapdo concept to control your apps and devices in a unique, convenient and magical way.
We will keep you in the loop and we are looking forward to any kind of feedback - please do let us know which hardware devices and use cases you would want us to focus on going forward in order to take tapdo to the next level.
Again, thanks to all of you for your support and trust.
Markus, Ulrich, Manuel & the Tapdo-Team
