WHO WE ARE:
Burbank Community Theater is a group dedicated to creating theater opportunities for people of all ages and all levels of experience.
The BCT Board of Directors is made up of young, enthusiastic theater lovers who are passionate about bringing community theater to the people of Burbank and surrounding areas.

WHY WE STARTED BURBANK COMMUNITY THEATER:
We are all local to Burbank, CA - which is wildly rich in culture, arts and theater. We have wonderful public schools with some of the best performing arts programs in the country - AND we have several professional theater companies doing incredible work.
But really there was no venue in between children's theater and professional theater, where all people could come together to produce theater recreationally.
So we decided to create that opportunity!
Burbank Community Theater has a mission to build our community, meet our neighbors, and provide opportunities for people of all ages and levels of experience to celebrate a mutual love of theater and the performing arts.
- To use our energy, excitement and passion to enhance the cultural environment of the Burbank community.
- To provide an artistic outlet for our members and quality entertainment experiences for our audiences.
- To foster creative expression, communication and unity, leading to life-long growth, increased self-esteem, artistic discovery and satisfaction from giving back to the community.
WHY WE'RE HERE:
In an effort to offer FREE opportunities to all who want to participate in Burbank Community Theater productions we are seeking the seed money to mount our very first show - the beloved musical ANNIE.
We feel confident that ANNIE will serve as a lucrative jumping off point and that the proceeds from ticket and concession sales will be able to fund future productions and allow us to continue with this financial model for at least 2 more shows in the 2013-2014 season and hopefully as many as 6 or 7 shows in seasons to come.
WHAT YOU CAN DO:
DONATE: Of course we can't do any of these things without some seed money. Though we've established strong partnerships with Burbank Park, Recreation and Community Services as well as Burbank Cultural Arts Commission, neither organization has the resources to assist us in funding Burbank Community Theater. So we are truly starting from scratch. That's where you come in!
GET INVOLVED: More than money, we need involvement from people like you. That's why we've geared our rewards toward getting you to come out and show your support for the organization. We hope you'll come audition, join our stage crew, play in our pit orchestra, volunteer to usher, or at come see the show and join us all in building Burbank Community Theater!
SPREAD THE MESSAGE: We can't do it alone! Tell your friends about us! Let people know about what we are doing in any way that you can. Share us on Facebook, Tweet about us, blog about us - Even if you can't donate - help us spread the word and reach our goal!
Risks and challenges
Staging a production the size of ANNIE is challenging, no doubt, but we've assembled a stellar team and have made valuable partnerships that will help us make it happen.
VENUE: Through our partnership with Burbank Park, Recreation and Community Services, we will be able to use public buildings in Burbank (such as schools or rec. buildings) for rehearsals and performances at a nominal cost.
DIRECTOR: We've enlisted the talented Josh Shaw as our Director for ANNIE. Josh brings vast experience and a high level of professionalism to the production team. We are so excited to have him at the helm of our first show and thoroughly confident that he will make it a success. CREW: We've secured a Choreographer, Set Designer and Costume Designer for ANNIE and they are already hard at work planning for the show!
VOLUNTEERS: In just a few short months we've grown from one person to over 50 people that are interested in contributing to Burbank Community Theater. We are confident that this number will steadily build as we get closer to ANNIE and that we will have more than enough talent, man-power, enthusiasm and passion to make the show a great success.
CASTING: We know that the idea of casting everyone that auditions could prove to be a difficult undertaking, but we feel it is vital to the success of our group that we stay true to the all inclusive principals that we were founded on. We realize that this "all inclusive casting" model will not work for every show that we produce, but our goal is to have at least one show annually that will include all who audition as a way of being truly community driven.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
