All things seem possible in May

We crossed the finish line. And who won those pencils?

Well, here we are.

It's hard to describe how I'm feeling. I'm completely exhausted yet energized and inspired to grow the line and put the finishing touches on things. That's just one of the many paradoxes I encountered during this project.

As I was saying to a friend yesterday, it was incredibly empowering to have an idea for a "thing" and work toward seeing it realized. However, in order to make that happen I had to be extremely vulnerable and ask for—and accept—people's help.

So now I'm ordering cardboard mailers, reviewing press proofs, and making the last of the edits in the next 2 weeks. You guys will be getting an email with a survey asking you which collection you'd like your cards to come from.

Last but not least, I'd like to announce the winners of the two sets of "The New Black" pencils and brass Kum sharpener from Greer. I used and drew Sara Schneider's number from among the weekend backers. Tom Case was the winner drawn from among the earlier batch of backers.

Thanks so much, guys!

Da Nuh Nuh Nuh Nuh, Da Nuh Nuh Nuh Nuh Huh...

I can't believe it!

My campaign manager, Glinda, is texting me excitedly that my work is not done yet. Any additional pledges over my goal will help me make a even more of a kick ass booth at the shows and cover costs such as editing and postage.

Stay tuned Tuesday morning for the final tally!

Millie's Angels

You guys ROCK! I'm at 95% with 74 backers and $124 to raise by tomorrow. We can do it!

So yesterday I gave a big thanks to Glinda, but today I have to give props to Millie's Angels. You three know who you are, and I couldn't have done it without you ladies. Thank you!

And I have to give a shout out to my Bosley. Can we guess who he is in the comments? :)

This story even has a Charlie, but I'm sure you'll never see his face. And I'll never tell. xoxo

P.S. You ladies can fight over who's Jill, Kelly or Kris, but I call Sabrina.

They're Measuring this in Hours

I'm almost there!

This project has had a lot of Fairy God Mothers. And I don't want to be sexist, because there's also been a lot guys going to bat for me too.

But there's one woman in particular who is the fairest of them all because if it weren't for her, I wouldn't be Here Today. We'll call her Glinda. So thank you.

But we have TWO DAYS LEFT, people!

So I don't want to twist anyone's arm, but anyone who's planned to back me or was on the fence, now's the time!

To get me over that finish line, anyone who pledges $22 or more to my campaign by midnight Sunday will be entered into a drawing for a set of Fred & Friends "The New Black" pencils and the Kum brass sharpener from Greer. Because, you know, D.I.Y. Is the New B.L.A.C.K.

And I didn't forget those of you who have already generously pledged! If I get to my goal, all of you who have backed me at $22 or more are entered into a separate drawing for the same prize!

So please forward this email to your stationery-loving peeps! Tell them it's now or never, do or die! Let them know if I don't raise another $800 by Monday, I won't get any of my funding—and that would be bad because you want your cards!

Thank you all so much, xoxo.
