About this project
Diamond Dragon is the first stategic game in a game trilogy that will take you to the Islands of Bainbridge and ultimately to Volcano Island where you will face the most fierce dragon of all, THE DIAMOND DRAGON!!!
If you're successful your bravery will be well rewarded! King Frederick and Queen Nimiah will give you their daughter's hand in marriage, riches beyond your wildest dreams, and crown you the bravest knight of Bainbridge.
Diamond Dragon is a strategic based board game for 2-4 players that is set to the tone of a medieval story. It can be played in solo or team mode.
The game board will be made of the same materials commonly used for game boards, 75% chipboard wrapped in a dark blue plastic with a gloss, high resolution copy of the game on the front.
Your skill, strength, stone collecting, sword forging, and dragon slaying will all be kept track of with a dry erase marker on a reusable laminated score card. You will recieve four score cards and four dry erase markers as part of the game contents. You will also recieve the Diamond Dragon rule booket.
All of the characters names as well as the name of the islands (Bainbridge) in which the game takes place were taken straight out of my novel 'Reilly and the Rise of Black Castle' (published in 2008). Reilly and the Rise of Black Castle is a pledge incentive with Diamond Dragon.
As you will see from the milestones below, if a high enough amount is reached I will be able to finish the game trilogy as well as turn the story behind the games into three seperate graphic novels which will be sold alongside the other two games on Kickstarter upon completion.
Also, at the bottom of this page you will see some of the game cards and a couple of up close pictures showing the high resolution quality of the game board. There will be 32 more game cards that I will complete during the course of this project and I will update the project every couple of days with the finished cards. Also, any final game board adjustments, artwork, and text and will be completed by the end of the project campaign.
Thank you in advance for your support and God bless!
Risks and challenges
I've strived to greatly reduce the risks and challenges of the completion of Diamond Dragon by finishing the game to the point of making it very realistic to complete by the end of its project time. I also set my minimum goal amount at $25,000 so that I can get the printing pricing needed to materialize the game with all its vivid colors and many playing pieces and cards. However, if challenges in either of these two areas or any other unforseen area for that matter arise, I will do whatever possible and is necessary to overcome them.
