- God, as a facilitator, has a great role in their lives. Intervene in A.I.’s lives in various ways to help them achieve their life dream.
Like the movie “Bruce Almighty” (2003), TGL shows the power of God in a comical way and allows users to watch over its effects.
TGL's gameplay method was largely inspired by the “Black & White” series. We asked, "What if 'Black & White' focused more on human life, and users were able to directly intervene" With these thoughts in mind we began designing TGL.
As users in TGL, the territories covered are not as broad as in “Black & White”, but users are able to intervene in every detailed aspect of the selected A.I.’s life.
The story of TGL is about a user who has no recollection of oneself, connecting with virtual reality to influence this virtual reality God-like powers. The movies, “The Matrix” (1999) and “The Thirteenth Floor” (1999) provided the most inspiration for this game.
Each individual A.I. has different wishes, such as being a rock star, millionaire, etc. Through our Kickstarter campaign, we will showcase backer’s suggestions to create a variety of A.I.s and build an algorithm that actually models the backer’s physical appearance and character.
We are developing A.I.s that have over 100 kind of individuality.
Just like reality, virtual reality also has a time standard.
Even when the user is not playing, the game time continues for the A.I. and the A.I. continues to live their lives. Upon reconnecting, a record of the life that the A.I. lived out can be found and the user can choose to either continue to move on or go back to the point where the user last left off.
Also, while A.I. sleep they recollect what they experienced throughout the day whether it is good or bad. Through this recollection they set directions to move towards their goal.
In many ways, God (the user) can intervene in the A.I.’s life. However, if God directly intervenes in the A.I.’s life too often, the A.I. begins to doubt the existence of God, which in turn can raise social problems. In order to avoid any disadvantages while playing the game, it is best to hide the existence of God and only intervene when it is truly necessary to set the A.I. in the right direction.
1. Walk Boost
If the user inputs towards the direction that the A.I. is moving, the A.I. will begin to move faster. If the fitness level of the A.I. is low then the A.I. will easily become tired and stop to take a rest. The activity that the A.I. engages in can have a positive effect on their fitness level and have a positive dietary effect.
Before an A.I. take certain actions they will take the time to think to make a decision. Primarily, A.I. will decide what action they wish to take. Afterwards the user can suggest a different action. A.I.’s final decision is later based on many different factors. An A.I. that is self-assertive often enough will take actions strongly based on their own decisions.
3. Accident Occurrence
In the path of the A.I., create an accident (non-fatal) to sway the A.I. to make a different decision. (In development)
4. Sleep Induction
While the A.I. is asleep, sleep-learning can take place. A user can select what the A.I. will learn while they sleep and through brain wave mini-games certain actions or purposes can be taught.
5. Change Location
God can forcibly relocate A.I. as desired, but risk of disadvantages may rise to the user when such actions are taken place as other A.I. witness such occurrences.
God can hit any A.I. in the virtual reality. In a situation where violence is necessary to protect the selected A.I., God can hit the the other A.I.s or stop the selected A.I. from committing a crime. God can hit the selected A.I., but when such acts are done, again, the A.I. begins to have doubts about God.
7. Other Intervening Elements
Apart from the mentioned above, there are other intervening elements that come into play. Such elements will be revealed through TGL development forum.

- Various factors that affect the life of the A.I.
- Expand the ability of God
- Diverse cross multi-play
- Design A.I. that has deep connection with the user that is more than just a normal interaction
For an A.I. in TGL to take certain actions, their experience, knowledge, memory, character, and many other factors play a role. Primary decisions for an A.I.’s action is made by the A.I. themselves.
Not only changing clothes, but also the act of decorating the house will be done by the A.I. as well. For A.I.s that lack the skill of visual expression, it might not be easy to watch the animation as they will dress as they please. (Animation to show A.I. changing clothes will be added later.)
Through emotions, A.I. define what sort of relationship they are in with others on their own. This defined relationship differs for each and every connection that they have with others, and such relationships continuously change through actions and experiences in their life.
Currently, rival and groom has been developed, but we are developing additional game design to optimize A.I. system for TGL.
2. Different selection of game environments according to the user’s decisions
One of the fun factors that TGL provide is seeing different A.I. responding and acting differently although they all have the same goal. For example, if an A.I. needs money, they will think of acts that they can do to reach such goals. If the A.I. does not want to take part in a part time job and does not have the ability to make a lot of money, they may pickpocket, steal, bank heist, or commit other crimes. As long as the A.I. is satisfied with the result of their action, they will be happy regardless of how God intervened in their life. How will you make their dreams come true?
Decisions made by the user directly affects the A.I. and brings changes to their appearance. Depending on how much the A.I. eats and exercises, it will be reflected by their physical appearance. Appearance management is an important part of the game.
3. Directly intervene in an A.I.’s life
In various ways, users can directly intervene in an A.I.’s life, such as moving their location, directly intervening in an action to lead the A.I. to take a different action, or go in the A.I.’s subconscious while they sleep.

4. Various factors that affect an A.I.’s life
Through changes in weather conditions, A.I.’s feel change in their physical and mental conditions. If the weather gets cold, it becomes difficult for the A.I. to lose or gain weight, and according to the climate, an A.I. can be exposed to cold viruses. Also, due to cold weather, an A.I. can become less active and personality may become more passive compared to sunny days.
BGM will change in real time with the change of weather.
- Surrounding Markets
The presence of a commercial area nearby A.I.’s home will affect the life of an A.I.. An A.I. can get a part time job or purchase products with money, or even purchase a store to perform economic activities.
In TGL various transportation method exists, and the A.I. can either purchase and/or use transportation just like in reality
Money is an important factor for an A.I. in virtual reality. The economy revolves in an A.I.’s world, but there are limited resources in this economy. Banking, which play a crucial role in an economy, is also a part of the game.
5. Expand the ability of God
- Acquire Soul Points
- Soul Point categories
There are 3 categories to Soul Points: good, evil, and neutral. After acquiring Soul Points, according to the standard of categorization it can be used to cancel or activate good, evil, or neutral abilities. Through this, God can obtain additional abilities. (We will share this information as soon as possible)
- Use of Soul Points
An acquired Soul Point can be used on a different category (e.g. use evil Soul Point for good) but this will result in a penalty.
6. Diverse Cross Multi-Play
- Multi-Platform (or Cross-Platform) Cloud Server
The goal is to allow users to bring their user information from any platform at anytime and anywhere.
However, platform development is in process and once this is done, users will be able to login from different platforms.
- During a friends’ absence, a user can intervene with their A.I. characters (Babysitter system)
When a user is offline, the user’s friend can play the user’s A.I. (User and the user’s friend cannot simultaneously play one A.I.). User can later replay everything what the user’s friend has done to the user’s A.I. and decide whether to continue playing the game the way it is or turn back to the time before user’s friend began playing the game. So there is no need to worry if the user’s friend as a joke ruined the life of the user’s A.I.
- Bring positive or negative effect on friend’s A.I. whom user meet by coincidence (Persona system)
- Play the game in the same virtual reality with a friend (Link world system)
Game can be synchronized and allow users to play with their friends in the same timeframe and in the same virtual reality. We would like to have many users as possible to play in the same virtual reality, but initially we will begin with two users maximum linking up in a single virtual reality.
For the team members to focus on developing TGL and to share development of TGL with the backers, a Kickstarter campaign was launched.

To make A.I. real as possible, different ideas from backers will be reflected in TGL and this will allow us to develop the game from different perspectives. A development forum where backers’ inputs can be collected will play a crucial role in the development of TGL.
All developmental issues will be shared with the backers and the backers’ suggestion will be reflected during development
Game will be developed based on backers’ feedback and to do this we are searching for ways to effectively share our output. This method of sharing the output is also something we want to discuss during early part of the development with the backers.
5. Why $50,000?
This is the minimum amount of funding that is required to meet our minimum goal for TGL. Our development team has to take part in economic activities while developing the game, therefore it has become increasingly difficult to put in the time and energy as much as we wish.
If we do not raise the necessary base funding, we will try to come close as possible to our ultimate goal (refer to ‘Why Kickstarter’ section). To further develop art resource it requires more time and staffing. We plan to spend more time among team members and hire more developers for art resource to enhance the quality.
6. Use of funding
40% of the funding will be used to enhance the quality of our art resources and overall development, and the rest will be used to pay taxes and commissions. 10% of the funding will be left as a reserve for any future risk that may arise.
Risks and challenges
A. Time (economic) Issue
Need to procure more time to focus on TGL
DDT games’ goal is to provide a new type of gaming experience that the users have not experienced before.
Rather than just giving orders to the A.I., but through advice and pressure by God, we hope to maximize deep connection between God (user) and A.I.
Due to lack of funding, to a certain degree we have to spare our time for economic activities, but to achieve our goal we are not hesitant to spend day and night working on developing TGL.
It has already been ten months on the project and we are thoroughly enjoying the time we have spent on developing the game, but rather than not knowing when we would be able to complete the making of TGL, we would like to spend our energy solely on the development of TGL.
In order to do this funding for living expense is a necessity. As some of the time that should be spend on development of TGL is spent on economic activities, our energy to focus on TGL is less than what we hope. Also team members wish to develop and communicate in one office rather than doing such tasks from several different locations. For these reasons through Kickstarter we have reached out to the backers.
Once we receive funding, we will focus working on A.I. factors and content development.
Lastly, following are promises that we would like to make with the backers.
