RELEASE DAY! Donations! And a request.
It's here! Today is the release day for RESIST FASCISM!
As of this morning, Resist Fascism is available from numerous vendors, with more to come. Please help us out by spreading the word! It would also help us immensely if you would leave a review!
Resist Fascism is a direct response to a rising tide of hatred and discrimination, which has always existed but in the past couple of years has flooded to the fore, more bold, less afraid of consequence. Everyone has to help resist, and this is one way we've chosen to do so.
We also plan to donate half of all proceeds from the sale of Resist Fascism to organizations dedicated to protecting voting rights, freedom of assembly, immigrants and asylum seekers, and more. (Note: this refers to post-Kickstarter proceeds. Kickstarter funds cannot be donated according to their rules, and we needed all those funds to make the book happen in the first place!)
We would love to hear suggestions of organizations to which we can donate funds, especially from our backers! Please comment here, or message us with organizations you'd like to see us support!
Finally, we want to implore all our US backers: PLEASE VOTE!
Tomorrow, Tuesday, November 6, is possibly the most important US election in our lifetimes. It is absolutely imperative that we prevent the current dominant powers from further destabilizing our country. This is just one piece of resisting - we won't magically solve everything in one day - but voting in this election is a crucial step.
Please vote blue! While many of the Democratic candidates don't live up to our expectations, they can be challenged, argued with, even convinced. Not so with our other options. An imperfect check against fascism is far better than stepping aside and allowing the fascists past.
If getting to the polls is a problem, there are some organizations arranging carpools, discounted and free rides: Carpool Vote, Carpool2Vote, Uber, Lyft, ZipCar, Motivate (bike share orgs Citi Bike, Divvy, Bluebikes, Capital Bikeshare, Nice Ride, Ford GoBike, Biketown, & CoGo).
And if you're in Massachusetts like us, please vote YES on 3, to keep the transgender anti-discrimination law on the books in our state!
We've said it many times, but THANK YOU, everyone who helped us publish Resist Fascism! Thanks to all the authors and artist, Crystal Huff for her editorial help, Brandon Seda for building the ebooks!
HUGE THANKS to everyone who backed the Kickstarter, shared it on social media, or told a friend! Today happened thanks to you!
