Spinning Wheel Theatre:
Spinning Wheel Theatre is a company based in the rural county of Suffolk. We create innovative productions and provide creative opportunities for rural communities in the East of England. We are passionate about providing our audiences with the opportunity to experience high quality, vibrant and accessible theatre on their doorstep.
This group creates a unique opportunity for 13-25 year olds aspiring to careers in theatre to 'takeover' Spinning Wheel Theatre. We are going to produce, market, budget, fundraise, manage, design and perform a show of our choice. As a group of young people aspiring to be part of the arts industry, this is an unparalleled opportunity to gain experience and broaden our skills and knowledge. This rare chance to take full control of every aspect of a project gives us a vital, realistic experience of working in the world of theatre. We are extremely excited to get started and you can help us get this project under way!
Our project is a combination of three classic British gothic horror short stories adapted for the stage into one performance. 'In The Dark' by Edith Nesbit written in 1893, 'The Inexperienced Ghost' by H.G. Wells in 1902 and 'The Open Door' by Charlotte Riddell in 1882. The adaptations were created by the group. Each piece is adapted for a different time period in order to create a dynamic and interesting piece of theatre. It will also feature installation-style performances during the interval and pre/post show to fully immerse our audiences in the world of gothic horror.
Risks and challenges
As with any production there is a risk of not selling enough tickets however, judging by our past record of successful shows this shouldn't be an issue.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
