A prototype is a preliminary model of something. Projects that offer physical products need to show backers documentation of a working prototype. This gallery features photos, videos, and other visual documentation that will give backers a sense of what’s been accomplished so far and what’s left to do. Though the development process can vary for each project, these are the stages we typically see:
Proof of Concept
Explorations that test ideas and functionality.
Demonstrates the functionality of the final product, but looks different.
Looks like the final product, but is not functional.
Appearance and function match the final product, but is made with different manufacturing methods.
Appearance, function, and manufacturing methods match the final product.
Grocery shopping is a chore for all of us - from having to carry heavy bags of groceries and lugging them home, to packing and unpacking them when we get back. For many of our parents and grandparents, this process is made much more arduous, given their stature and age.
For greater convenience, many of our parents and grandparents use a trolley when grocery shopping. While this eliminates the need to carry heavy loads, they have to bend their back and legs repeatedly when loading and unloading groceries from their trolleys when shopping, often straining their backs in the process.
Every year, 632 million people report facing frequent back pain. Moreover, many countries are facing aging populations right now and senior citizens require greater support in their daily lives. Thus, given this tremendous number of people who need help, we have decided to step in to offer our product ELLE: a trolley add-on that elevates such that senior citizens no longer need to bend and strain their back again.
The key features of ELLE include a spring mechanism and movable platform. These 2 features work hand in hard to elevate the load such that the top layer will always be in the user's reach.
We are constantly working on ELLE to add more features and to make your shopping experience as seamless as possible.
For easier retro-fitting, we have added hooks onto our latest prototype, allowing for faster and simpler installation and removal. Install ELLE in 2 steps, in 2 seconds: just secure the hooks in the front and back and you are good to go!
Working on the feedback we received in our initial market testing, we are proud to announce that ELLE is now foldable! This makes ELLE much more portable, less bulky and easier to store.
Thus, it is extremely user-friendly for senior citizens as it is portable and lightweight and most importantly, reduces back strain.
