When I was growing up I saw a news piece on ABC's 20/20 describing my hometown as "Drunktown, USA". This film is my effort to defy that judgement of my community. With your support my film will show the world that label was wrong, and that my community has complexity, dimension and hope. Your support will help me send this message.
For the last seven years, making Drunktown's Finest has been a labor of love for everyone involved. The project was fortunate to be selected for the Sundance Institute's 2009 Native Lab, 2010 Screenwriter's Lab, and 2010 Director's Lab. The film took an additional two years of writing and fund raising before we found ourselves able to attract investment interest in spring of this year. We were also able to attract a small, but immensely talented cast and crew. And thankfully we've received tremendous support through local production houses with donations of gear and equipment. This project truly is a product of collective effort and faith.
We knew going in that we only had enough money to get us through production, but we had to push forward. We knew the project was worth it, and that if we got it through production we could make the final amount for post happen. And this is where you come in.
With your help we can continue our momentum and get this film completed and off to its awaiting festival life. With the opportunities available to this film, it's imperative that we put our best foot forward at our screenings, and post-production will make Drunktown's Finest the amazing film it is. But we need help.
The funds raised through a successful kickstarter campaign will be used to complete post production on the movie. The movie completed production in August, but we still require the sound and picture post as well as the music and composition for the film.
We will use the funds to pay our composer and a music supervisor to place tracks in the film. We will also use the funds to complete a sound mix and picture post. All are critical elements to our films overall success.
We are currently editing to submit to this years Sundance film submission deadline for inclusion in the 2014 festival. We need to raise the funds to finish our movie!

Risks and challenges
Our project has completed production, meaning we have shot the film (it's in the can!) and only require completing post. We are also financed through the edit and will have a completed movie on our current financing. Our risk is therefore being able to complete post production.
The funds raised here will be allocated to picture post, sound post, music, soundtrack and delivery. Any risk associated with the project has for the most part been mitigated by the completion of production. With a successful campaign we will be able to complete the movie.
If any risk that exists would be in our ability to manage the post and maximize our services for the financing available. Therefore, less a risk and more a matter of degree. Regardless, we will have a quality film at the end of post term.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
