With our patent-pending Strike Plate Lock, you can now quickly and easily secure your home. In just two simple steps, you can attach a two-in-one door chain and flip-lock to just about any door without drilling any new holes. First, remove the two existing screws in the door’s strike plate. Second, replace the door’s strike plate with the Strike Plate Lock and install with included security screws. Once secured, place the Security Ring over the door knob. Now you have one of the most secure door chains on the market.

The Strike Plate Lock shown in the video and pictures is our third and final prototype. We have a patent pending, and have done a patent search. We have trademarked the name Strike Plate Lock and are vetting manufacturers at this time. Our biggest issue is letting the public know how strong the lock is and how easy it is to install. The "flip lock" secures the door when it is closed and there is no access to the screws. The "flip lock" also protects you from lock picking and lock bumping. High-quality locks may be more vulnerable to bumping unless they employ specific countermeasures. Lock bumping is the process of using a shaved key and a hammer to unlock a door, the key is tapped while inserted into the keyhole and you are able to open the door.
This is something I have considered. 1.If you open the door while the "door chain" is engaged, and someone pulls out a screwdriver, slam the door. 2. If you are looking for a more permanent solution, place crazy glue epoxy or household glue in the screw head. It would take someone approximately 30 minutes to pick at the glue before they are able to insert the screwdriver inside the screws. 3. We are considering offering a security screw with a special wrench for $3.00 dollars extra. It has the same concept as the glue, but you have a special wrench for yourself.
"Yes". I was asked this by a friend who saw the video. He said he would not have believed it was that strong unless he knew me. Our first prototype broke after 30 hits with the heavy weight bag. We strengthened the weak spot and the second prototype survived 31 hits with the bag and 9 kicks as you can see in the video and pictures. We believe it could have handled 50 plus hits if we had not stopped for viewer purposes.
How are you equating the force of the heavy bag to the force of a human kick? I just wonder if a 250 lb person's kick would have greater force than the heavy bag.
a good question, In the video I was able to break a store bought door chain after four kicks, and I weigh 237 pounds, I kicked the strikeplate lock seven times and my friend twice, that was after 31 hits with the bag and we were not able to break through the door, in the video one hit from the bag will break a store bought door chain and four kicks from a 237 pound man will also break the same model door chain, I believe one hit from the bag is very close to four kicks, hope that gives some perspective
