You have finally found the 100% cotton underwear you have been looking for! Did you know that 100% cotton is the healthiest known fiber for women's underwear? However, the vast majority of underwear on the market is synthetic or synthetic blends and not as good for women's bodies.
FranciePants are not only healthy, but also beautiful, so that women need not compromise on style in order to care for their bodies.
We make our body positive underwear in an ultra-extensive range of sizes and we reject traditional size labels that are inconsistent and stigmatizing.
Our prices support paying Americans a generous wage to work from home, on their schedules, and take care of what matters to them.
The following fabric selections will be available to Kickstarter backers:
FranciePants is the pioneer of crowd manufacturing. Each of our garments are handcrafted by a Sewing Artist in the United States who works from home. It's a new way of making things that empowers Americans to earn generous and flexible income, from home, and while prioritizing what matters to them.
By backing FranciePants you are helping us hire Americans immediately for jobs that empower them financially and personally. Our goal is $5000 because that is all it will take to hire one additional Sewing Artist to our crew. We hope you will help us raise far more. Unlike many campaigns, there is no minimum order quality we need to meet to place an order abroad. We will scale as much as you help us scale. You can create a job right now.
By backing us you are not only helping to bring a healthy empowering product to women, but also to start a crowd manufacturing movement. These jobs will help people, perhaps your friends, family, or you, to earn a generous and reliable income, that works with their schedules and allows them to prioritize what matters most.

We offer four styles that fit all sizes, body types, and preferences. All feature stretch lace trim and smooth construction without panty lines.
FranciePants fit all body types and sizes well, from a traditional size 00-32 and beyond. At FranciePants, we reject traditional sizing. Instead of stigmatizing labels like XS and XL, we name our sizes. See the chart below to find your FranciePants size. If your size falls close to the border between two sizes, choose to size up for more coverage.
We are offering a very special reward that we believe is unlike anything that has ever been offered on Kickstarter - the opportunity to sponsor an entire "pod" of sewing artists in your hometown or favorite city. Pods are our way of organizing our crew of Sewing Artists. By sponsoring a pod in your favorite city, you will create at least 10 well-paid, flexible jobs for your friends and neighbors. There will likely be many more jobs at your pod in the future. (Thirty Sewing Artists is our estimate for optimal pod size.) Furthermore, you position your hometown as one of the leaders in the crowd manufacturing movement. We will heavily promote the work we do at all pods, especially the first ones that result from this campaign. This reward also includes the opportunity to name the pod. Your name, the name of a trust, estate, business, or organization, may be named. This reward is offered for a donation of $25,000.
We reserve the right to edit or adjust your requested pod name, if necessary, to align it with the brand. The city or metro area you select for a FranciePants pod must be in the continental United States, have a population of at least 50,000, and have a public transportation system (any type). It must be within 75 miles of a major airport. Please contact us directly so we can confirm your favorite city is eligible for a FranciePants pod and facilitate the transaction.
We believe that:
- Comfort and aesthetics can coexist
- All brands should make clothing in all sizes
- Homemade things are inherently special
- Buying products made by each other is how we care for one another
Risks and challenges
FranciePants was founded in March 2017. Since then we have been working hard to test and perfect our styles with focus groups, fit testing, and by distributing samples. All patterns in all sizes are complete and tested for fit, functionality, and durability. We have trained six Sewing Artists and refined our process for instruction. We have a waiting list of Sewing Artists ready to work in Maryland. We have fabric and materials in inventory ready to manufacture.
We run a very small risk of not being able to deliver your rewards according to our time estimates and practically no risk of failing to deliver, as we have already been crowd manufacturing samples for months, in order to test the process.
As we add new pods, in new cities, new and unexpected challenges may arise. In any new pods sponsored and selected by backers, we will commence a recruitment process to find the right local Sewing Leader and pod location.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
