If this was a genuine error and simply a failed project, the creator would be around offering assurances, apologies, and promising to come up with a plan to help redeem themselves. The fact this hasn't happened to me shows this was a scam pure and simple.

This project makes me so bitter but in the end, I've backed 16 projects - of those, I've received my pledge/reward for 12 of them, money collected for 1 (Exploding Kittens card game) and reward delivery due in July, and 2 still active projects - ScreenStick & Pebble Time... I must not let the scamming antics of one creator put me off backing genuine ones.

With me being in the UK, class action lawsuit wouldn't really work. Chargebacks for UK cards typically only works within the first month or two - by the time we discovered Matt Huber was a big massive lying cheat, I reckon most UK backers were well outside that window. Police wont do a thing given circumstance despite it being theft... So really, us UK folk are fresh out of luck.

I wish the American backers success in trying to get action taken against this guy.

    2. Creator Rayman on February 28

I have to admit this is the first kick starts campaign I feel like I was cheated of my money.....I understand this is a site to help those with start up projects to bring their creation to the public and not a shopping site like Amazon BUT we haven't heard anything about this project in forever.....with no updates I can't help but feel like everyone else...I would love to somehow get my money back.

    3. Creator Ronnie on February 24

Totally agree which is why I recommended everyone do the following of what I did

    4. Creator Christopher on February 19

Unfortunately not Andrew, and it appears that nobody ever will.

Matt Huber has done one or all of the following:
      - Set up this kickstarter with the sole intent to scam money. Product was never real.
      - Failed to estimate the time and cost to make this, and came up significantly short
      - After the campaign decided that he could no longer be bothered, and ran with our $35k
      - He's a liar
      - He's a cheat
      - He's a scammer
      - He's a conman

      Take your pick...

    5. Creator Andrew Brenner on January 29

Has anyone received anything from this campaign yet?

    6. Creator Ronnie on January 10

You can contact the STATE OF IDAHO Office of the Attorney General - by 1-800-432-3545 or if you are local and/or don't mind calling long distance phone number is 208-334-2424

    7. Creator Ronnie on January 10

Ryan - only thing I can recommend at this point is for you to contact the attorney general, kickstarter, and see if your credit card company will help you. He hasn't responded in like forever

    8. Creator Ryan Viernes on January 9

      I want my money back

    9. Creator Ronnie on September 18, 2014

I would also recommend everyone reporting and commenting about this project on search for smart

    10. Creator Ronnie on September 11, 2014

I really wish kickstarter would do something about this AHOLE THEFT!

    11. Creator Ronnie on August 8, 2014

oh snap... let me check if i have that.. I think after i filled out the form online it just gave me a confirmation number.

    12. Creator Bart Baetens on August 7, 2014

Hi Ronald, would it be possible to post the text you posted on the form? That way we can all file the same complaint. I'm in

    13. Creator Ronnie on August 2, 2014

Godmissy - no class action lawsuits but Matt and his companies have not responded to the letter that the attorney generals office of Idaho sent him so my complaint is on his public records and I've been submitted complains to KS every week. I would be happy to join a class action lawsuit

    14. Creator Godsmissy on July 31, 2014

I'm a little out of the loop, because like a legal abiding citizen, I've been working hard for my money. Are there any class action law suits against Kickstarter or this guy that have been initiated?

    15. Creator MayoikondaInu -迷い込んだ犬- on July 19, 2014

I don't live in the US.
I can't do anything about this From Japan.
      The very frustrating.

    16. Creator Ronnie on July 18, 2014

Hey Fellow backers - Those wish to exploit this scam and guy who IMVHO ( In MY Virtual Honest Opinion) STOLE my/our money and will never heard or see from him again
please comment on website where projects are reported as scams etc...…

    17. Creator Chilwd on July 15, 2014

Already filed a complaint with kickstarter and going to look into filing a complaint at the AG office. Tnx for the help Ronald!

    18. Creator Ronnie on July 13, 2014

I also just filled another complaint with Kickstarter and will forever do so until they change something or do something when the backers do not hold up their end of the agreement they signed with kickstarter. So, I would also recommend folding a complaint and reporting this project ASAP

    19. Creator Ronnie on July 13, 2014

I'm not 100% sure/positive, but regardless of where you live. This guy or this Matt Huber states he's in Idaho... If i were international I would do the same thing I did. Which is file a complaint with the Attorney General.. The more complaints they get, it's possible they will take legal action... I highly doubt it, because Matt Huber has not responded to TWO letter sent to him by the Attorney Generals office. I'm waiting to hear back from the Attorney Generals office regarding the next step.

      The form is here

    20. Creator Chilwd on July 6, 2014

So how can international backers support your initiative of taking legal steps Ronald?

    21. Creator Ronnie on July 2, 2014

To be honest I'll never pledge for any project relating to a smart water bottle. I know that might sound a bit mean but this is why we or kickstarter needs to do something!!

    22. Creator Daniella Fayad on July 1, 2014…

Well, ladies and gents, here's a project like the one we had pledged for. Only. This one looks like it's gonna be a reality.

    23. Creator Ronnie on June 29, 2014

I feel it's only right that we stay on too of this as he agreed to terms of agreement just like we did and he is not conforming to those terms he agreed to. So, if we all come together file a complaint with the AG I will then call and speak to a lawyer to see if we can do a class action lawsuit

    24. Creator MayoikondaInu -迷い込んだ犬- on June 27, 2014

I saw the photos of the updated Facebook.
Matt has been to fool us.

    25. Creator Tanya Murphy on June 26, 2014

thanks for keeping on this . I see he recently changed his facebook photo ....

    26. Creator Ronnie on June 25, 2014

Matthew I understand and just as the comment below you it's the principle I have a few projects that I've backed that are wayyyy past the due date but they are keeping us informed and giving accurate details and images of the old molding and the new design this guy had taken advantage of us and kickstarter. But I would encourage everyone to file a compliant with the attorney's general office

    27. Creator Matthew D Willson on June 25, 2014

Ronald, You know that I was probably one of the biggest people coming out and trying to give Matt the Benefit of the doubt but even I am just kinda shaking my head on this one. I know none of this was guaranteed but I am on board with the AG letter.

    28. Creator Kristopher Thatcher on June 24, 2014

People have projects that fail that's life. But this dude is a total DB! We should pitch in and send someone up there to ask him where everyone's money is now that we have his address. Like many of you it's not the money it's the principle of the way he has handle this situation. A+ for your resolve Ronald he probably assumed we all would go away by now.

    29. Creator Richard Webber on June 16, 2014

Good effort Ronald - I'll do the same tonight!

    30. Creator Ronnie on June 13, 2014

So far the only signed and stamped with their state stamp was that they have sent Matt a letter informing him that he has a certain number if days to contact their office and or me which he hasn't I'll need to get the letter and type word for word for what it says.....

It's pretty awesome and if i got a letter like this I would be scared

    32. Creator Ronnie on June 12, 2014

Google attorney general file a complaint for for state of Idaho I'll get the paper and comment the address and any information there is . So far he had 21 days to respond to me and hasn't and if he doesn't then something will happen but the more backers who file a complaint that's more ammo for us. ;).

    37. Creator Ronnie on May 20, 2014

    40. Creator Andrew Leo on May 14, 2014

Thank you Ronald for going out of your way to file the complaint. I may speak only on my behalf, but I think many other backers would be glad to hear you are doing something about this project. Thanks again :)

      I found it 801-471-7223

    42. Creator Ronnie on May 8, 2014

I'm filing a complaint and filling out the form to mail to the attorney general of nampa, ID. Does anyone know a phone number for Matt Huber... or Ride Decals ?

    43. Creator Ronnie on May 7, 2014

Ariane* my apologizes for misspelling for your name.

Harry keep being a "troll" and negative because you were all for and trusting Matt and hate that I was right and you were wrong. I shall not respond to your sarcastic comments anymore I will file a complaint with kickstarter regarding your comments

    44. Creator Ronnie on May 7, 2014

      Hi arine -

Sorry to inform you but this entire project was a fraud. No one will get refunds nor the reward. I suggest you file
Complains with the BBB, FTC, attorney general and anything else you think that will bring this guy to justice

    45. Creator ariane fulk on April 29, 2014

So no reward? Or no news on sceduled ship date?

    46. Creator Corey Modrowski on April 17, 2014

At least if we get enough complaints filed, the attorney general will investigate. Or if the volume is great enough they will send it to IC3. I'm dealing with another KS project where the creator was failing miserable at communicating, so a few people filed with the attorney generals office. As soon as the attorney general started mailing them, suddenly the communication perked up. At least this way the creator is held (somewhat) accountable for this project. I've accepted that I won't get my money back, but if he gets investigated by IC3, at least maybe they will keep this from happening to some other poor sap.

    47. Creator Harry Franklin on April 16, 2014

So, how did that FTC complaint and all the others you were going to file work out for you? Matt is vacationing in Vegas. Is that what the FTC does to people who make poor business decisions? If so, sign me up...

    48. Creator Ronnie on April 14, 2014

      FTC my apologizes.

    49. Creator Ronnie on April 14, 2014

Hate to say, but I told a few certain people that this was going to happen. a few months ago, I already submitted a complaint with the FCC. But, Corey I'm up to do anything to help others get a refund. I called my credit card company, and informed them of the situation and they credited me back. But, it wasn't Matt that refunded me.
