Seaweed is a renewable resource that does not require land resources and actually absorbs CO2, which is why a seaweed-based product has an environmental advantage. Many bioplastics are made from GMO crops like corn.

Risks and challenges
Manufacturing – This product is unique from a production perspective, so while we anticipate challenges, we have the right team in place to troubleshoot and problem solve along the way. Our team includes scientists, engineers, as well as operations experts and industry advisors.
Shipping in Summer 2018 – We plan to iterate, review samples and do quality control in March/April 2018 and place the manufacturing order by May 2018. We estimate shipping will begin in August 2018 …. Just in time for the dog days of summer! We don't anticipate any issues with this timeline.
