Frequently Asked Questions
They come in Packs of 100
Here is the card count on the larger cards (which are the ones you can add on):
6 Player Aids
53 total in the base game alone
Plus if you get the expansionary cards that are that same size (not counting The Heat because that is a Poker Sized Deck)...
15 total in Rioting Gangs PLUS pack
13 total in Crooked Lawyers
28 total in expansionary cards
81 Grand Total of the Larger Cards
So one pack of 100 should do ya.
(maybe get two if you want to look toward the future)
A great source of info on card sleeves for Police Precinct (and other games) is located here...
There's NO difference is the simple answer, though let's look a little deeper.
But first we'll explain what we mean by that...
"The game you get via the Kickstarter is shrinkwrapped at the factory and is exactly the same as the game you would get from the store (we don't add anything to it)."
That said, there are items included with some of the reward packages that you can't get through retail (unless that store ends up backing the Kickstarter), such as...
CROOKED LAWYERS CARD PACK: (Mix of larger and smaller cards, total of 25)
RIOTING GANGS PLUS CARD PACK: (also includes Mad Men, Rocket Launcher, and Dirty Bomb cards)
STRETCH GOALS: (Unknown Entity -- time will tell what these are)
THE HEAT: (award winning card pack style expansion)
ADD-ONS: The opportunity to get certain items (such as custom Dice, etc)Last updated:
if you got the Full Monty and tossed everything that was old and kept everything that was new, then...
1. It would all fit in your box, YES!.
2. You would be still using some original 1st Edition items such as:
The Smaller Cards
The Smaller Boards (meaning -- Murder Board & Crime Track)
The Cardboard Insert (2E has plastic)Last updated:
1. We plan on putting it in a bag of some kind (likely a zip lock).
2. Once you get this bag, place it's contents inside your 1st Edition box replacing key items (The board, Larger Cards, etc.), and discard the bag.
3. Then we are instructing you to please take those 1st Edition items which are leaving the box, and please place them inside some game box that you bought at the flea market for a $1. This box and it's contents will constitute the bones of your soon-to-be prototype of some cool expansion for Police Precinct. Then ASAP get to work on the designing of said cool expansion, followed by letting us know how it's coming. The hope is that your prototype will be AWESOME which will lead Common Man to publish it (please understand that part-3 of this answer is meant to be 1/2 half joke and 1/2 dead serious, so get to work!!!).Last updated:
SHIPPING SPEED: Doesn't it usually take longer to get rewards sent to international backers than US-Based backers, yet your project does not seem to reflect that, why?
Yes, you are correct, it typically would take longer. The reason we don't reflect that aspect is because the Kickstarter system has greatly improved itself in the way shipping can be handled. This wonderful improvement has left in its wake no way to make distinctions in that area however. It seems that you can only offer ONE completion date per reward package. In the case of "ship anywhere" reward packages, we are indicating when we anticipate the US backers will receive their games (since there are always more of them), and with some luck, we will be able to get the rewards to the international backers by that same date. Fingers crossed please!Last updated:
The exact rules for this have not yet been written, but it will involve the use of vehicles that are not being utilized in that particular game session.
The base game comes with 10 police vehicles and at most 6 will be used in any given game, thus at least 4 spare vehicles are available in any given game.
At some point in the future more vehicles will be released for Police Precinct and these Characters will likely be compatible with some of those vehicles. Examples of vehicles that we expect to come out with would be:
1. Motorcycle Cop
2. Mounted Police Unit
3. SWAT Unit
4. Mobile Command Unit
5. Numbered Patrol Cars
6. Different colored vehicles
7. Other (the possibilities are endless)
Item #5 and #6 would be the most likely unit to be compatible with most of the Characters being released with this Kickstarter.

DISCARD EXTRAS: A backer asked us an interesting quesion... "Will most of the upgrade components replace the original components form 1st edition? Or can you put them together and use them both?"
OUR ANSWER: Hmmm... Originally we were thinking discard them, BUT... Now the wheels are turning. In fact, we should get a thread on BGG going to brainstorm ideas! DONE... https://boardgamegeek.com/thread/1402579/lets-discuss-discards-your-2nd-edition-upgrades.Last updated:
Here's some info / thoughts on The Mad Men...
A. FIVE VS SIX:
We made a promise to our 1E backers to not release entire decks to anyone but them. That's a promise we must keep.
B. ANY NUMBER:
You don't need all 6 to have a great and very "Mad" experience with these cards!
(5 is plenty)
C. IDEA #1 FOR GETTING THE 6TH:
Yes, it's true that some folks do order a 2nd set to get that 6th card.
D. IDEA #2 FOR GETTING THE 6TH:
There has definitely been a black market for this item. It stems from the folks who got the extra pack while striving for the 6th card (after doing this, they have 4 extra duplicate cards). BGG threads have been the main marketplace. Most folks give them away.
E. IDEA #3 FOR GETTING THE 6TH:
Remember the Rocket Launcher is effectively a Mad Men Card, and it comes with our bigger packages, thus folks getting those packages will end up with 6 MMCs without doing any add-on action.
Yes, you can get all the details on Mad Men Cards right here...
