Dear Backers,

It’s the first anniversary of The Grand Dodo Ink Kickstarter reaching 100%! It has been a hectic twelve months, but we’d like to give you an update on what we’ve achieved in that time:

 - Our first novel, Dodge and Burn by Seraphina Madsen, has been published to excellent reviews from the likes of 3am Magazine, Bookmunch, Lonesome Reader and Eclectic Magazine. It’s even been chosen as a staff pick in Foyle’s!

 - Our second book, Wood Green, has been released today, and we will soon be mailing copies out to those of you who chose it. Sean Rabin flew over from Australia to the UK to do a number of readings and events, including a launch at The Big Green Bookshop and an indie press night at Burley Fisher books. We're hopeful of more press coverage in the coming weeks.

- Our third book, The Eleventh Letter has been edited, proofed and sent to print. We have lots of activity planned for the release date, and look forward to sharing it with you.

 - We’ve had the opportunity to meet a number of you at our events in London and Manchester, and hope to meet many more before long.

 - We have secured sales and distribution deals with Signature and Central books, ensuring that our books can reach the widest possible audience.

 - We have been able to expand the Dodo Ink team, with Publicist Jasmin Kirkbride and Associate Editors Tomoe Hill and Jessica Ballance joining us.

 - We have finalised our list of releases for 2017, with new fiction from major authors including Monique Roffey, James Miller and Neil Griffiths.

None of this would have been possible without your support, and we’d like to thank you again for your backing. At a time when mainstream publishing is increasingly dominated by a risk-averse mindset, and broadsheet arts coverage is shrinking, we believe that a strong independent publishing sector is vital to the survival of great literature, and thanks to your help we have been able to get these three novels into bookstores, and ultimately into readers’ hands. Copies of Wood Green and The Eleventh Letter will be arriving with you soon. We hope you enjoy them, and please keep in touch with us by email or through social media.

Thank you again for your support – it’s been a great first year!
